Some of my fav moments at disney is finding cool relax spots to chill out at during my vacation.. relaxing at the poly or wilderness lodge beach, etc just to slow the trip down a bit.

Are there any spots quiet spots at Universal to relax at for a bit? Any of the resorts etc?

It's about a 10 minute walk from the studios to the Hard Rock Hotel. The lobby has a lot of couches and chairs to relax on. I guess it's not that quiet as they have the rock music playing but it is cool and comfy!

We found the patio outside the Hogshead Inn in Hogsmeade to be a great relaxation spot inside the parks. Even when everything else was crowded, that patio wasn't.

Gardens of Allah have some lovely secluded bits to sit in.....hardly anyone around except for the occasional TM wandering past.

Plenty of little spots just dotted around.........the area in the front of what was Twister is a nice garden area, if it's not over run by smokers.

In front of the Simpsons area down by the lagoon isn't very busy usually and has some seating. There's also some seating just after Simpsons area near the Back to the Future train.........fairly quiet.......

IOA does have some places but not as quiet usually we find. There are some seats beside the Popeye ride that is under trees and hardly anyone sits there.

The splash zone at Jurassic Park ride has a little area to the side where you won't get splashed and is in the shade.

The Fountain in IOA is popular, but just to the rear is fairly quiet........not very comfy though........

Not in the shade but behind Mythos is an area we spend some time and take pictures. Never been anyone round there with us.......no shade though.

But for me though, RPR is less than a 10 minute walk from the parks. The lobby is lovely and has plenty of seating as it includes Orchids lounge area. Very peaceful during the day and quiet.

You could have lunch in Jakes downstairs.......excellent food served all day.......that would be a real break from the parks of an hour or so doing that.

Again, any of the resorts would be worth a visit though..........

Might seem odd to some people, but something my father and I have done several times is go to Jurassic Park Discovery Center. What we do is go to the area where it says "Beasaur", where the dinosaur figures are downstairs. We sit down and lean against the rocks. Sometimes people might be over there, but for the most part, typically there isn't many people in that area, or most times no one at all. So, it's a nice place if you just want to relax in a nice air conditioned place.

Also, a place I noticed recently, but have never personally used to relax, is the hallway that Horror Make Up Show exits into. After the show, the doors open, and you walk into a hallway, then you can go through a gift shop (a gift shop that also is used for an exit for Terminator). Once again, a nice air conditioned place, more, or less relatively quiet, and for the most part hallway would be empty (except when Horror Make Up Show ends and everyone exits). So, about every 45 minutes you get some visitors who will quickly walk through the hallway. Other than that, I think it would be a nice place to chill and I personally do not see why an employee would have an issue (besides I doubt they would notice).

There are plenty of places at resorts I would imagine, but I wanted to mention the two air conditioned places that I know of (one for each park) in which you could relax, relatively without no interruption.

At Portofino bay, the Piazza at sundown with a glass of wine is magical..Opera singers sing on the balcony above

Duff Gardens along the water front. We've enjoyed many of the other places listed above. Royal Pacific is my favorite relaxing spot. Just about anywhere at that resort.

The quietest place we found is the Betty Boop/Hello Kitty shop. They had no music playing in there last month. There is no place to sit, but if you just need to rest your ears for a few minutes, that is the place the go.

We went and sat in the shade and seemed really quiet area over at Animal Actors. It was shaded and a nice place to relax and hardly anyone else ever there when we stopped in. Perfect place to munch on your Big Pink Doughnut from nearby ;)

Islands has a lot of spots that overlook the water. There used to be boat launches long ago when the park first opened that would take you to all the different "islands". Well, they're not operational anymore and the areas to get down too them are mostly out of the way so people don't venture down there. There's the area down by Mythos, there's a "Secret" path waterside at Seuss landing, right when you come into the park if you keep walking slightly to the right and straight to the water you'll find an area that is my favorite to take pictures of the castle. At Superhero island I always get a churro at the fruit stand and walk to the right towards the water. There's some tables in the shade here that overlook the water. IDK if that restaurant opens during the day or not, but in the mornings it's completely empty so we're by ourselves. If you walk straight towards the water at JP in front of the discovery center you'll find one of my absolute favorite chill spots.

At PBH there's a nice little bench out of the way that I found the other day. Overlooks the bay and is right on the walking path to the parks, but "hidden" by rocks. Look for the Portofino Flag. It's before you get to the boat launch if you're coming from the parks.

Universal infront of London is decent-- the part by the water in front of the fence. I also find the area towards the kidzone to be a little less crowded than most areas there. There's a sitting area waterside on the walk towards ET from the park entrance right across from Allah. My brother and I used to get rootbeer floats from Mels and then go sit over there in the shade.

Street ally ways in USF are also usually pretty decent places to chill. You can walk up the porches and what not and catch some shade.

I'm sure you'll find your own little places as well. I always seem to discover something new each trip.

My favorite area personally is out in Central Park, just across from the Gardens of Allah. It's a beautiful shaded area, and it doesn't see a ton of guest flow. You can actually watch the Hogwarts Express back into King's Cross at one spot. Despite being a little strange to consider, it's fun to look at!

If I recall correctly, there are some benches along the walkway to the HRH. Lots of trees back there and fairly quiet.

In IOA, I like the area along the lake below Me Ship, The Olive.

In US, try the area by San Franciso where the Jaws shark is hanging. I think there are lake side seats over there.

If you have an American Express card, there is the American Express lounge near Shrek. It is an indoor, air conditioned room. Not very quiet but a cool place to sit for a spell.
