I am potty training my DD now... started kinda late - I started Thanksgiving week, and she will be 3 this coming Feb, but everything went great... in the beginning. I used the pull-ups, and for me they are great. We told her that they were big girl panties, and that she couldn't go potty in them, and she was fine with that and never had any accidents, but it was just precautionary for when we went out to the mall, ect. She always wears real big girl panties in the house, and when we go over to family.
My problem is now, she is freaking out and throwing horrible fits about going on the "big girl" potty (we had been using a little Dora potty at home). I think what happened, is she was fine using them out, like at the mall or relatives, but some of the public BR's have automatic flushers, and they would flush while she was still on it, and that has now scared her. As we speak, I have told her that her little Dora potty is out, and she has no choice but to go on the big girl potty in the house. I have assured her that I would NOT flush the potty, and that everything will be fine, but she is still throwing fits and throwing herself on the bathroom floor screaming... not quite sure what to do now. Any suggestions? I feel like a prisoner in my own home since I cannot go out!
