Hi, I am going to WL in June. MY DH has his heart set on it. He has friends that stay there and he said if we ever go back to disney we are staying at WL. I have been reading the post about disappointments regarding WL. Can any one tell me some of the really good things about WL. I know there are WL lovers out there. thank, corvair

We love the WL!! Went last summer in August for the first time using a great code price. Got a free up-grade to a wood's view room at check in and truly enjoyed the resort all week. The pools are great; we especially liked the quiet one near the villas. Check out the hidden Mickey's - some are really hard to find but found them all :) Also, rent a water mouse from the marina area - the best place to rent from!! We used the boat to MK several times but never the busses - had a rental car. We ate at the Roaring Forks a few times and once at Wispering Canyon - food was o.k. but nothing to write home about. Cast members were great and sent a balloon bouquet up to my hubby on his birthday :) I had told them when we check in about his birthday and I guess they noted it. We would stay there again in a heartbeat but want to check out the AKL this year so have booked a bunkbed room there for this summer. You'll enjoy the lodge; by the way they sell all kinds of food int he gift shop - sandwich stuff, bagels etc. We didn't learn this until checkout day :( Say hi to Mickey for me!!

We have stayed in the villas 3 times and absolutely love this resort. It is literally our home away from home! The WL is a spectacular sight - particularly for we Floridians who don't see this kind of architecture. We have always had good experiences with cast members, especially guest services. We always get the 1-bedroom villa so we cook a lot of our meals. We have never eaten at Whispering Canyon or Artist Pointe, but then neither one is our cup of tea anyway. Roaring Forks is a great place to grab a burger or sandwich. For dinners out we usually head to the Contemporary or the Grand Floridian. The pools are fun, the beach is nice, there are boats and bikes for rent. We always use the bus service and find it to be excellent. Transportation to MK is by boat which is also excellent. This past visit, the lodge brought a birthday cake for my DD along with real china and silverware. They even decorated the cake for her - she was thrilled! Check out my pictures of the villas and lodge.

We stayed there Jan 2001 and absolutely loved everything about it. We stayed at the Grand Floridian this January and we liked it a lot but I think that I actually like the WL a little better. It just has such a cozy feel to it.

I took my fiancee to the WL in January; checked in on New Year's Eve, checked out a few days later. We spent quite a bit of time in the Lodge because we wanted the New Year's atmosphere, but not the crowds, so we didn't hit the parks till after New Years. Also, it was very cold and rained quite a bit.

Previously, my fiancee had gone to Disney only to make me happy. Staying at the WL completely changed his tune. He thought it was the best, most relaxing vacation and he can't wait to go back to WDW again. It's a great place for a relaxing, romantic vacation!

Though my preference is BW, I readily concede WL is one of the most impressive resorts particularly for theme and that incredible lobby. Don't get overly concerned with complaints that may be posted once in a while. Though the complaints are usually legitimate, they are not the usual experience. In fact, any premier resort (at WDW or anywhere else) will always have a small percentage of dissatisfied customers because of bad events that occur to those particular customers.

We love it there! We had the one tiny problem getting bedrails but that did not upset our experience at this wonderful lodge! It is truly breathtaking. The pool, geyser, boat to MK, the lobby, the waterfall from the lobby to the pool, the animals you will see ALL add to the experience! Just sit on the balcony at night and take it in! Enjoy:) ! Don't let CM problems keep you from going as these are isolated and can happen at any resort! ;)

I didn't know you could get bedrails...do you have to reserve these in advance? My DD will be three when we go in October and although she sleeps in her full size big bed at home I was alittle worried about her falling out of the bunk bed since she won't be used to it. Has anyone ever moved the bunk beds up next to the wall?

...why not try posting your question on "Wilderness Lodge FAQ????" - we are trying to start a thread devoted purely to the WL, and if your post a legitimate question, it will help things along....Thanks!!!:sunny:

YES, there are bedrails available at all the resorts:) ! We requested them at checkin at WL and it took about 5 calls:rolleyes: and 8 hours to get them! Said we never requested them and when they found the request, said they were shorthanded CM's! I was about to send DH on a mission to find them when they arrived with apologies:) ! My DD is prone to fall out of bed, so we put them on both sides of her lower bunk. They worked great, no need to push bed against wall! Request when you arrive or call Lodgekeeping from your room. We got them quickly at PO when we asked for them last summer.
Maybe if a FAQ was at the top of the resort page, that would be better?

I don't understand how anyone could ever possibly be disappointed ever in staying at the WL. Sorry.

This resort is Spetacular, I've had nothing but the best experience here both times. Great CM's that have gone out of their way, Beautiful rooms, Great bus service, good restaurants, excellent housekeeping.
This place is awesome! IMHO, one of the most romantic resorts.
We intend on going back for our anniversary, and we intend on staying here again. It's #1 in my book.
I will always be a "WL Lover" to the end.

...why not help us out and post some of your insights to WL on the 'revised' "Wilderness Lodge FAQ!!!". Who knows - it may be the start of a FABULOUS thread!!!!
