any golfers ship golfclubs to WDW?

We are planning another trip to WDW that will also include some golfing. We have always checked in clubs with luggage at airport. However, there will be 6 people (2 or 3 golfbags) going on the next trip. We hoped to rent one minivan or SUV, so space is limited. DH wondered about shipping golfbag via UPS or FedEx to the resort, and back home again. Just wondered if anyone has done this and if it has worked well? If not, we'll just make two trips to transport everyone and everything from airport to resort or rent two mid-size cars instead of one large one. Thanks for your input.

I'm a golfer, a DVC member and I work for UPS. When ever I travel on vacation I always have my clubs shipped to the resort or hotel where I am staying and when I am done have them shipped home. If your an avid golfer buy a hardcase for your golf bag from any good golf shop or make the purchase online from any reputable vendor.

I have never had any problem as long as you alert the hotel or resort ahead of time. With the technology available from the package carriers today you can process your shipment online for both the initial shipment and the return shipment ahead of time and even have an email generated to keep you intouch with your clubs if you wish.

We have the large GLOVE soft bag carrier. We've had some of the hard ones and the airlines kept breaking the hinges. Will give UPS a call. Maybe get a box from the box store and use lots of bubble wrap. Thanks for your help.
