I have been waiting on AP rates and now realize that I can no longer hold out and have to book something. I refuse to pay $155 for a moderate and the only thing they have left in the Value category is $110 for a "preferred view". Again for principle reasons I just will not do this. This is just a fun trip that a friend and I are taking the kids (hubbies staying home) so we want to be kind of frugal.

SO- Has anyone stayed at Floridays. I understand it is a timeshare that rents out the rooms when they have no owners booked. I have some rates on Travelocity of $145 for a 2 bedroom. This would mean $72.50 for each of us. I am looking for some reviews please!!!!!!!

It is located near Vistana Villages and The Fountains/ Oasis Lakes At the Fountains. We were just staying at Vistana Villages in February and it really looked as if they were still heavily still in construction. Are they open yet? I know they are new! That's all I know!

I suppose this isn't particularly helpful, but we were driving by the first week of May, (we stayed at The Fountains) and they were just installing the sign. They are getting closer, but I don't think it was open just yet.

How many people all together, including moms and children? and when are you going?

May I suggest Cypress Pointe, and Cypress Pointe Grand Villas? or The Fountains? Maybe Embassy Suites?

I know that I can book right now on Travelocity for July. So I guess they are open or will be by then.

We will be 2 moms and 6 kids. What do think of Sheraton Vistana?

I haven't personally stayed at Sheraton Vistana, but I have heard good and bad opinions, mostly good. I think it may depend on the section you are assigned to.

For that many people, I would recommend (not in any particular order) Summer Bay, Orange Lake Country Club, Cypress Pointe Grand Villas (that's phase II.)

Do you want the full kitchen and resort "experience" or just a place to dress and sleep? or something in between?

I drove by the Floridays resort twice a day last week on my way back and forth from the Marriott Grande Vista. I can honestly tell ya that they don't look anywhere near complete. If they plan to be open in July, I'd be nervous that it would be the bare minimum services and ammenities at that point. It does look like it's going to be a nice place when it's completed.

I was about to say the very same thing. I was there last month and it looked nowhere near done. Unless they did some really fast construction I find it hard to believe it's completed.

I'd give them a call and ask about the progress before I book it.
