Any favorite servers to request?

We had Jean from Macedonia and Marin from Bulgaria and they were wonderful, especially with my DDs. DD8 loves maraschino cherries, and tried all week to get DD11 to give her the cherry in DD11's sprite (no luck there). Jean must have been listening, because one evening he came by with a refresher appetizer for DD8...a HUGE bowl of fruit.....ringed with maraschino cherries! The final evening she gave him a bear hug and a kiss. DD11 was embarassed by all this, but she did ask for their autographs!

I took a break from drinking water or soda on semi-formal night and asked for a glass of wine...thought Marin would fall over with shock! He seemed excited to choose a wine he thought I'd like...and he chose well!

Beckie from Canada was our server in Palo, and she was great. We felt the need to overtip

We also had Gemma in April 2003 and she was fantastic. We are going again in April2005 and hope she will still be onboard up in Palo. She was such a sweetheart!

I know that tipping amounts at Palo's has been brought up before, but I don't remember whether this question was asked. Do you leave a cash tip at Palo's -- or charge it to your room?

We were on the 5/23 Wonder and had Michael as our server for Palo's brunch. Within the first 10 minutes, we requested that he be our server for dinner there as well.

At our request, he surprised us with an assortment of entrees and desserts- all exception.

Our regular servers were *okay* but Michael was exceptional.

Anyone who has been to Palo recently....is the Beckie that is serving in Palo the same Beckie from Canada that used to serve in the regular dining rooms????

Here is a pic of her...if it is the same Beckie...she is AWESOME!!!!

We had her for one cruise and then she heard we were on the cruise again from our new servers (she just go onboard that week and was not serving) and she found us in the dining room just to say hello!!!

Yes, that is Beckie! She is good pals with our DD in Palo. She is such a lovely person, isnt she?!We met her in March, and she treated us like we were family. Nat

When we went to Palo for Dinner in May, we sat at Beckie's table and Gemma stopped by for a chat with a picture of her family since she knew I "Disboard" with her mum, Nat. Absolutely fantastic service from both of them and great personalities. I can understand why folks remember them.

FYI Nat, I think Beckie treats everyone like family. That's why everyone loves her.

Nope, no nightmares. And remember we're crew parents so we're family. She's proud of her parents as she should be. Also, it may give you a hint that she misses mum and dad more than she might let on. Besides, we're used to looking at our own pictures so we don't scare easily.

Aww thanks. She just rang from Port Canaveral. She was just giving Sasha (Croatia) a hug.................he is off home at last for a few weeks to see his lovely wife and daughter. So if anyone is hoping to have Sasha serve them, Im afraid they will have to wait until end of August.Nat

Beckie is great and I'm so happy to hear she's moved up to Palo. We had Beckie and Rachel (from England) on the April 3rd sailing and she mentioned that she'd like to try Palo.

She did the napkin folding class on our cruise - she's just a hoot! Incredible service, of course, but the main thing is that she's just so much fun!

We had Beckie last October and requested her for our trip in two weeks. I guess we better eat in Palo's if we want to see her again.

Anyone just back who had amazing service? I don't know whether to request or take who we get. The servers who do the magic, etc make dinner special for the kids, but it does seem most servers are pretty good.
One week from now we will be onboard the Magic!!
