Any Fantasmic updates?

We pushed our reservations back(end of May/beginning of June) till August because of Peter Pan & F! being down. I was upset about F! but really it was Peter Pan that made me actually switch My husband's only request has been that he wants to bring our daughter on Peter Pan. The man doesn't flinch at the budget or daily itinerary updates LOL so I figured this was important. I am really hoping F! will be up and running by 8/6 but TBH I am not planning on it I also had BB dining package and that hurt me to cancel. My window for reservations start here soon, so even if they bring it back I imagine the boat for BB dining package will be sailed soon

The news has been F! Is not expected to return until after Labor Day.

Peter Pan is back up on June 30th. Fantasmic......well sadly the earliest anything official from Disney has been "after" Labor Day, and even then it won't be with Murphy, it'll be the b-mode projection they did in previous years before constructing Murphy.

Rumors have been to bring back a night time parade during the summer, but if that happens it likely won't be until later summer. I'm there during 1st week of July. I'm bummed because with only the fireworks as night time entertainment in Disneyland, it just makes the park busy. Fantasmic was a huge crowd draw.

If they aren't going to have the dragon even when they do resume, why can't they do B-mode now? Was there extensive damage to the platform such that performers can't be there?

It makes me super sad also... I probably shouldnt even admit how upset I was when I realized it was going to be down for awhile. The night parade I can remember when I was younger and loved it, and would love to see again -- but its no F! and I am not holing my breath for the light parade to be there when we are

I have wondered this also & cant seem to find the answer. Do I want B-mode... no but if that is all I can get I am OK. I have never seen the show & am really sad that there is a good chance I will never get to see it as before.

The only reason given is that they want to revamp the show. It appears they could do B-mode now.

I'm with you, why can't they just do the projection mode now. I mean that's how they ran the show when it first debuted and for several years. So it makes me think more damage is there, but nothing to confirm that. As far as Murphy returning to its former glory, I wouldn't set my heart on it. Basically for a few reasons, it's pretty costly to make a new one and will take extensive time. And probably more importantly, they are likely under scrutiny by OSHA. If that is truly the case, OSHA could be doing further investigation, and further follow up, and maybe the reason why it's being delayed returning.

I mean, I don't necessarily mind changing it up, but the Maleficent Dragon is pretty much the definition of Fantasmic! It's in the logo. If they do have to change, I think I'd just prefer a new show entirely.

It says in the press release Maleficent will still be there. They have made changes in the past and it is still amazing, I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assumes that they're going to be down for so long that they will have something equally impressive.
I am frankly more curious about what they were doing in the meantime, hopefully something more interesting than the riverboat they've already announced.

When is Splash supposed to re-open? I'm thinking they are viewing this as an opportunity to create a new show and tie it into the New Orleans theme.

On a side note, did anyone see the fireworks drone show at Disneyland Paris? I wonder if they might be considering adding drones to the shows in California.

I wonder that too. Seems kind of shocking they haven't really Incorporated them yet into the US parks.

I hope it's worth 8 more months of it down.

Just......insane it's going to take that long with no dragon coming. I know they are going to "add" things but would be cool if they just put it into B mode for the rest of the year and finish the new additions early next year because I highly doubt it's that much they are adding, unless the rivers are drained then it feels more like cost cutting then anything else

Thats my guess, hope I'm wrong but looking at the budget they gave for the "replacement show" until it comes back they do not seem interesting in spending money in the parks right now

I've seen Fantasmic with the dragon as a projection, so they can do a version of the show with the dragon that is not a physical fire-breathing thing.
