Anybody else keep up with the antics of Hank and Peggy Hill?

This is a cartoon which has to grow on you, but it's one of the few shows I watch these days which makes me laugh out loud.

What's surprising, is that after you've watched it awhile, the characters really have some "heart". Some of the episodes are really quite sweet.

I'm sure everyone has a neighbor like Boomhower, Bill, or Dale.

Poor old Dale, he doesn't have a clue about the 'headache' treatments by John Redcorn.

My FIL IS Boomhower! LOL.......:teeth:

I love King of the Hill. My college program roommates just didn't get it, but I managed to comandeer the tv often enought to get my fix.

It's such a well put-together show -- so many little extra jokes that you might not get if you've not lived in or around Texas.

If you haven't gotten the first season DVD, get it! It's a 3 disc set and the extra stuff on it is amazing. Deleted scenes (which are completely colored and everything, rare for a cartoon), and a goldmine of other stuff.

I love King of the Hill! I've even adopted some of the sayings as family jokes, I'll tell you what...

My DH loves that show and the Simpsons

Got to love a show that has Chuck Mangione as a hero!!!!

I, too, love King of the Hill.

BTW, is this show somehow related to Bevis and Butthead? I seem to remember a character on B&B that closley resembled and sounded like Hank. Maybe it's only because Mike Judge did both, though.

who's the voice of Luanne? DBF and I think it's the girl from 8 Mile

Aurora,

"Hank Hill" is definitely a younger version of Beavis and Butthead's semi-senile neighbor "Mr. Anderson". . . (they routinely wrecked havoc on his home when he'd hire them for odd jobs; and he'd refer to them as "that Buford and Butthole. . I'll tell ya what; those boys ain't right. . . " because he couldn't remember their names. . LOL!! :teeth:

As I recall reading somewhere, Mike Judge signed away all his rights to the B&B characters to MTV when they first agreed to air the series, so when he went to do "King of Hill" he couldn't use any of the names or characters from B&B on it. . . but Hank and Mr. Anderson are definitely two different versions of basically the same character. . . :) :)

King of the Hill is a great show. We watch it all of the time. Unless you live in Texas, it may be hard to understand how important high school football is to some people and why being a high school star is so important.
