We booked fd today for Poly:) We originally planned a trip 8/23-8/31. A few days ago, due to the pretty strong indications that fd would start 8/24, I made the 23rd a room only for one night and then did a split reservation for 8/24-8/31. We originally had tickets for 8 days, however due to the change, I just made it 7 with the tickets obviously attached to the 2nd reservation (to take advantage of fd) which means we can't do the parks arrival night (we probably won't get there until 4-5pm) - still with me here?! If I were to attach the 7 nights to the first package and 1 night to the second, would that still keep me eligible for fd. Also, would they make me pay for the tickets earlier (we are having to pay for the room only by the end of April but the 2nd reservation doesn't need to be paid off until 7/10)? Thanks so much for helping me out with this.

A one day pass is quite expensive. I would forgo the parks on arrival day and go to DTD or out to a nice dinner and explore your hotel. Buy your 7 day pass with your free dining reservation.

Hope this helps!

I agree. I would also look into buying the 7 day passses from a discount ticket broker. You can still keep the package.

I don't think you could attach the two reservations and still be eligible for the FD. But, I'm not sure what you mean by "attach". You wouldn't be allowed to combine the 2 reservations into one.

If you are worried about having to move out of one room for another, just check with the front desk when you get there and let them know that you would like to stay in the same room.

Keep the 7 days with the FD package. Take your night and go to DTD. Maybe see La Nouba (it's just so amazing!!) - I realize this is nearly the same or more expensive than buying a 1 day pass. Or, go out to the campfire at FW - take a carriage ride. Or, hang out at the Poly pool and soak up the atmosphere and you'll still see the fireworks. I almost suggested going out to a good TS dinner or maybe a character if you have kids, but that might not be your first choice with the dining plan starting the next day.

ETA: You can "attach" your 7-day tickets to your 1st ressie, as long as you do get at least a 1-day ticket with the FD ressie. But as pp's stated, that 1 day ticket is fairly costly. You can also just buy a 1 day ticket on your FD res and get 8-days from a ticket broker, saving your 1 day ticket to apply towards another ticket's cost - but honestly this just might be slightly complicated and it sounds like you don't live close (ie you might always want to buy a package), but it might work for you. If you do put the 7 day passes on your first ressie (this is gonna get complicated) you'll have those 7 day passes attached to your 1st room key. So you'll have to carry around both keys - one for your 2nd room with a 1 day pass attached, and the one for your 1st room that will act only as your park ticket after you've checked out. Honestly for me, it's my vacation, and I'd just want it to be simple - just giving you some of your options.

OP would still have to buy at least a 1-day pass on the FD stay in order to keep the package. In her case, it wouldn't be cost-effective. Good suggestion for another promo, just not for FD.

I was thinking WAY too much about all this. I see that it would make the most sense to just stick with the plan (nothing on 1st room, total package on 2nd). Thanks so much - my brain was fried after the anticipation and anxiety of FD.
