Any Experiences With Massage Envy?

I joined last year. I love having the monthly commitment to treating myself to something nice and relaxing. I've had the same masseuse every time and she's great. It's a chain so I'm not expecting a luxury spa but the atmosphere is pleasant and professional.

Due to all the comments about the sales pressure, it's worth noting that I didn't join after my first visit. I said I wanted to think about it and there was no pressure at all. That made up my mind for me. Also have never been begged for a tip but they do ask on the way out (not the masseuse but at check out) if I want to put a tip on my credit card.

Not Massage Envy, but we belong to Lavida. I've been pretty happy with the service (aside from two of their male practitioners who are just WAY too rough. One left bruises!). We've accummulated a few months worth of massages due to my back surgery in December preventing us from using any since NOvember. We have wacky schedules and have had some issues getting appointments....finally made one last week for DH and I but they cancelled due to the weather. I was able to reschedule for next weekend but only with one of the male therapists I don't like. I was assured he'd tone it down and they gave us the appointments for free to make it up to us.

Massage Envy is franchised. What anyone may or may not experience varies depending on the individual franchise owner. I have no particular experience with them other than seeing a location along my regular commute, but I thought that I would put it out there that one person's experience may be vastly different than another based on the particular location.

I've been a member for a couple of years now and really like mine. I did not experience the high pressure sales tactics others have in other locations. The staff at mine has always been very professional and helpful.

ETA - my massage therapists have been great, too. There was one guy that I didn't really click with, but there are several others that have given me great massages that I know I can choose from when I schedule my appointments.
