Any experiences with jetBlue and weather delays?

We are flying SYR to MCO on January 20th and back again on February 3rd.

We've never run into serious weather problems on other trips, but SYR is in a snow belt, and I'm wondering how jetBlue is at handling passengers when flights are delayed or cancelled due to a winter storm.

What exactly do they do with all the passengers who have seats on delayed or cancelled flights? What are our options if a jetBlue flight is cancelled? Who gets priority once the flights resume?

Any jetBlue veterans with experiences or advice to share?

Well, my one preboarding weather issue only resulted in a delay of about, um, four hours (and an entirely different flight) but based on observations:

Scheduled passengers have priority. Last December 17, many flights were cancelled due to snow (either in the Northeast or Las Vegas, yes, it snowed there that day). Since I was departing on the 18th, it didn't affect me except that my flight was completely full, including some passengers from the previous day's cancellations.

Most airlines, JetBlue included will, if they know about the weather problems in advance, post on their websites with information for passengers with reservations. Often they will let you change your flight - sooner or later than planned - at no cost.

There's a recent thread from a DISer upset because JetBlue cancelled her EWR-MCO flight sixteen hours in advance, based on the (relatively accurate) blizzard prediction this past weekend. While the thread went on for a few days, the original poster didn't - possibly because she was aggravated, but much more likely because JetBlue was able to get her out just one day later than planned.

There is an EXCELLENT, active thread on this forum with advice on what to do in case of flight delays. START with the LAST page, where someone synopsized all the advice ('stealing' much of it from my own synopsis on page eight of that thread ;)).
