Been thinking of taking a course through the mail and was wondering if these are legit and if businesses recognize them as reputable education.

So...are they any good???

Thanks

yes, as long as it's thru a college you know. My Dh is doing one thr UFL.

I wouldn't do one of the ones that has commercials on TV, but the ones through real, standing universities should be fine. I'm taking one through the USDA. It's actually a class in indexing (as in writing indexes for books). That's a little out of the normal realm of the USDA, but there aren't really any universities that teach graduate level classes in indexing, so they offer it. They can't give degrees, but the credits will transfer if I ever decide to get a Masters in technical writing.

I talked to my sister about it when I was thinking of attending college. It would be so much easier to do the online thing. She said that her company does NOT hire those with the online degrees.

Some accredited colleges do online courses though. In fact some, like University of Phoenix is completely online. (and accredited to my knowledge)

Back in the day when my sister was in the Air Force, she did corresponce courses through a certain College.

I wouldn't trust the Sally Struthers commercials.. I thinks its IBS, International Business School or something like that.

I did the Sally Struthers type thing (Harcourt-Brace runs it now) for my medical transcription course.
