Any experiences rope dropping MMRR?

Wondering how long the wait is at park opening? I don't plan to be there early enough to be in the front of the crowd, just early enough to be in the park at opening to book a boarding group (hopefully). Do a lot of people head there first? or are people still mostly splitting between SDD and MFSR?

You apply for a boarding group the second all people in your group have scanned into the park. No need to go to the ride. Make sure you have all their tickets connected to your MDE account.

Also, if you are talking about RotR boarding groups, that information is incorrect. Boarding groups aren't available until official park opening time, even if you're in the park ahead of that. This is a change from December, when BGs were available on a first-come, first-served basis. But that's been over for months now.

OP, people on the RotR BG thread have posted some info about MMRR standby lines and if you're not going to be in the park really early, then, if things continue as they are now, you are going to be in the back of a very long standby line.

Yes I'm talking about getting a boarding a group for rise of resistance as soon as park opens and then heading to Runaway Railroad. I plan to arrive in the parking lot around 7:15, hopefully through security and scanned into the park by 7:45 and we'll move as close to MMRR as we can at that point.

Thank you @Miffy I'm trying to figure out rough time frames to see if we will have time to wait in line for the railroad before our first FP or whether we'd be better off waiting in standby for it in the afternoon after our last FP. Looks like it has been running about a 2 hour wait in the afternoons so trying to figure out if the morning is better or worse. I'm hoping for some first hand experiences to give how long they waited so I can make a rough plan.

I know what thread you are talking about, I'll check that out, thanks!

My guess is that you’ll have to get there way earlier than that to get a decent wait. If that’s the earliest you can get there, your best bet may be to just wait in the middle of the day, try refreshing for a FP+, or ride at park closing.

One more thing to take into consideration is that even if you are there early and are in line for MMRR, you could end up inside the building when the time comes to join a BG, and people are reporting mixed experiences with connectivity, depending on what carrier they have.

The best thing would be if you could get a FP+ for MMRR. Or perhaps you have SDD and that's your Tier 1. Or maybe it's too close to your arrival date to even be thinking about trying for a FP+ for either of these, although I always believe in persistence. It often pays off in MDX.

Yeah my trip is next week and right now I have my first fastpass at 1035-1135 when the park opens at 8. I also have 2 reservations for my kids to do droid building, one is at 920 and the other is at 215 after our last fastpass. I need to cancel one of those reservations and so I'm trying to figure out whether we should ride railroad in the morning if we'll get done in time for the first fastpass OR do the droid thing in the morning and ride railroad in the afternoon. Wait times have looked so long at everything in hs that I kinda just don't know where to start or what to do in the morning!

TODAY - We got to HS about 7:15. Lines long in the line for MMRR by 7:40. Didn't ride it until close to 10! Then rode it again when the wait said 120 but we were on in 55.
Grabbed a RotR at 8:00 along with everyone else. We were bg 33 which was good as it started about 10:03-12:03.
