I'm thinking of making a reservation for my boys and me, and I've never been there, and would really like to hear some thoughts from those who have.

Thanks!

We ate at Sci-Fi for lunch during our July Trip...both kids thought it was neat to be able to eat in the "cars" at a 'drive in'.... food was good...service was good...i would say go for it...your boys would probably enjoy it.

My 5 year old son loved it. My daughters (4) were a little scared/grossed out by the movies. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I'm sure you would have a great time!

Awesome! Thanks for the reviews.

I think we'll definitely do it then... The pictures online certainly make it look like a lot of fun!

Thanks again. :)

Been there twice with my kids. They liked it, my wife liked it alot, mostly cause they serve the kind of food she likes. I'm a more adventurous eater, so, I find it kind of boring. Atmosphere is clearly geared towards kids.

There, I said it. I'll undoubtedly be back, because I'll be abducted and taken there by my family.

From what I heard the experience is good but the food is no better than counter service. I plan on going during lunch and just getting burgers and fries.

We really like it. Food is good enough but I like it because its a nice cool, dark escape from the heat and sun. Perfect for a relaxing lunch. ;)

The milk shakes used to be good. Not anymore. They are now made with soft ice cream, rather than the hand-dipped style. They are boring and tasteless and not worth the bother. We used to go mid-afternoon for shakes and onion rings. The onion rings are still good. But, now the shakes aren't good, we don't see the point.

I'm going to be the voice of dissention here. My 7 year old and I didn't enjoy the Sci Fi at all. Our food was really, really not good, and as a party of 2 they sat another party of 2 in the car behind us, so close that we could both hear each other's conversations and it was uncomfortable.

It was WAY too expensive for really lackluster food. We wouldn't eat there again, dining plan or not.

We ate there on Friday and we liked it. The service was ok, the burger and shakes were really good and the atmosphere was fun. Stick with the burger...DD didn't like her chicken sandwich. It was huge...I wish we had split the meal because we couldn't finish it. :goodvibes

Thanks again for all the great details, everyone. :goodvibes

It sounds like a definite "go" for us, as my boys and I are all burger and fries guys... Pretty simple tastes; we'd all have eaten just fine in caveman days, and my wife says we're not much removed from that anyway.

We like this restaurant. It's a fun place. I like the lunch menu better than the dinner, but we ate dinner there in Oct. I had the reuben and it was very good. Watching the old B horror movie trailers is great fun.

I thought it was decent. We did lunch - just burgers & fries. I could take it or leave it.

BUT - my three darling children, who don't agree on ANYTHING, have included Sci-Fi as the one place they ALL want to do again on this trip. They loved eating in the cars, and loved the goofy movies they played!

So, we'll be going back. :) It's a nice break from the hot sun too!

It's one of our must dos - for the atmosphere. We always have burgers & onion rings. Our last trip two weeks ago, my niece had the veggie burger, which she liked. We also tried the artichoke dip and gave it thumbs up. It seemed like the "movie" was longer than two years ago when we were there. There are just three of us, so we have always shared a car. We haven't had a problem, since we're enjoying the movie and not having alot of conversation.

DH and I first went as a couple on honeymoon 5 years ago and we loved it. DH is a fan of the burgers and the adult shakes are a hit with both of us. Personally I find the burgers a bit on the large side but its become a tradition for us to go.

We tend to be hitch hikers but we don't mind and most of the time we are not even on our mains and the family in front have left. Yes its a bit strange sitting with people you don't know but its just the same at teppan edo.

We had a fantastic server last year and DH and I ended up having a very long conversation about our love of classic cars.

The movies are cute but be warned there is one with a tune that will get stuck in your head. :lmao:

I liked it in here but food was very average. I loved my chocolate thick shake though and Tony our server was fantastic (best ever at wdw). Please take something warm to wear though...it is FREEZING in here.

We go every time we are at the World!
BLT soup is my fave! Make sure you go for lunch as Burgers are only offered for Lunch
The food may not be the best but the atmosphere alone is worth a visit at least once

Sci Fi is one of my FAVOURITE restaurants in Disney!!! First, the atmosphere is everything to me. I just love the fact that we're eating in a car while watching clips! its great!! The ribs are to die for, omg so good!! Burgers are fantastic too, so are the milkshakes. Your kids will LOVE IT!!!! Its a must do for every trip for us. :)

 :yay:

We have eaten at Sci Fi in the past and have enjoyed it as well. As everyone has said, the burgers are good. They are only on the menu at lunch, however, if you go for dinner and want a burger, just ask your server.
