My son still is wetting the bed at 14 1/2. This runs in my side of the family. We had him put on the med DDAVP this week and it is working. I just HATE the thought of him being on meds that we don't know the long term outlook on. But it was getting to the point where he was missing out on too much with the problem on bed wetting.

Have any of you had experience with this med?

as a side note --- I do NOT have a prescription plan and these meds are well over $100 for a one month supply. YIKES!

If your child had iron deficiency anemia, would you feel okay giving him iron tablets as prescribed by his doctor? Of course, you would, it's proven and it's natural. Well, DDAVP is a synthetic (lab produced) form of the naturally occurring pituitary hormone vasopressin. It has been used for quite a few years and with good results, very few side effects.

We use it in the hospital where I work (in tablet or the spray form) and it works really well for our patients.

Thanks so much for that explanation Edie! This is all new to me and I've been trying to get all the information on it that I can.
:D
