Any experience with TBI and SDMT?

Traumatic brain injury? That covers a pretty broad spectrum of symptoms. Care to narrow it down a bit? It's hard to give advice without knowing the particular problems this person is dealing with.

I agree; it's hard to give an answer without more information.

What are your specific concerns?

He's had a stroke, is on meds for seizures. He used to love roller coasters and thrill rides, now cannot ride them. I've ridden on SDMT and I'm very scared of heights and roller coasters. So is a friend of mine. We both can ride this without a problem, and I even feel safe enough that I'll raise my arms at the top of the first drop. I'm just wondering if anyone else has issues with it who has TBI.

I would let your friend see the ride and then decide if he thinks he can go on it since most of it is out side he should be able to judge for him self

Why can't he ride now? 7DMT is a mild coaster, but that doesn't mean that whatever is keeping him from riding other rides won't be present on it.

Again, I'm not sure why he can't ride roller coasters now. You said he had a stroke. Is there residual paralysis that makes mobility or balance a problem? If balance isn't a problem, and you can assist him with boarding, exiting, and securing the restraints, I'm not sure why he can't ride. Unless of course his neurologist has said no.

I would just let him decide then. I wouldn't push someone into something prone to panic attacks.

Perhaps have him watch a video of the ride (YouTube is full of ride videos) and let him judge that way? If he can watch the video, and then see the ride in person, he may be able to make a more complete decision.

I have lots of experience with TBI as my wife has one. We've gone to WDW about twice a year since about a year after she got it. My wife has a diffuse axonal TBI from a car crash. The other posts are correct that without more info it's hard to give any good advice. Generally speaking though we don't ride anything with rapid acceleration (Aerosmith etc) as that's what caused her injury in the first place. She does ride 7DMT BTM and similar rides. She occasionally rides Tower of Terror but not always. Watching you tube is a great way to gauge.
