Any experience with Pods?

My mum wanted me to ask.

She isthinking about renting a Pod when she moves. the appeal is taht she doesnt have to hire someone to drive a UHaul or Penske if we arent here and that they will store it for her whiel she house hunts.

Has anyone here used one?

They are handy to use, but after all the different charges the cost can add up in a hurry. BUT, we had a double move since we built a new house.

Convenient and much cheaper than a moving company, if you are capable of loading and unloading it yourself (or have friends who will help). If you have to hire someone to load and unload, the price difference may not be worth it, obviously.

But it was nice to have it for a week at each location, so I could load it and unload it on my time.

It was a lot smaller than I expected/calculated, so I needed to rent a U-Haul trailer for the overflow. So take into consideration that you may need multiple PODS when calculating price. Or get one, fill it with the unneeded stuff first, and have them deliver a second when they pick up the first if you need a second. Then deliver both to the new place at the same time.
