Does anyone have any experience with a kitten with a hernia? Our vet was surprised that the shelter's vet missed it when the shelter's vet spayed the kitten. It's on her tummy and our vet says it is less than 2mm. He's told us to just push the fat deposits back through whenever we think about it (evidently because if it does close up on its own [best case] preferably it'll be with all the fat on the correct side of it). He says it is so small that, unless he has some other reason to go in, he wouldn't recommend surgery for her to correct it, at this time.
We trust our vet implicitly, but we we love to hear what others would recommend in terms of additional questions we should ask him about this.
