Any experience with Empire Today carpet?

we had them do this house but we were desperate as our original carpet person was over 3weeks late with no install date in sight. So we were stuck with them. DH speaks spanish so we had no issues with the installers but since I didn't take my shoes off and walk the whole house we have a spot in the hallway that they left a piece of wood or something under. It's still there as I got distracted and never called to have them come and fix it. I think about it every time I step on it but obviously not a huge deal since I've never called. LOL

The price was outrageous but again we had no choice. The quality of the carpet isn't great but it is holding up well to my kids so that's something.

Anyway, I wouldn't use them again unless I was desperate but at least I know they are for real with the next day install.

oh yeah, they did leave us all the extra carpet roll up nicely in the garage and the installers did show me where they had banged into the walls/doors so I could file a claim if I wanted but it was just little dings and no big deal.

They also moved all the furniture that was in the rooms to lay the carpets for no extra charge.

They have been on the news here in the past for bad business practices.
I'd stay away from them personally.

My best friend used them 2 or 3 years ago when she had to replace all of her carpets with wood or laminate floor b/c of her baby's extreme allergies. They quote some high price, but offer a half price "special" if you get next day service. She needed it fast and coulnd't afford to dicker around with HD, Lowe's or some other carpet place. She was pleased overall.

I would NOT recommend Empire. We used them to replace carpet in our family room with laminate wood floors. Yes, they were quick to install but when the floor started bubbling a few days later, it took multiple and not very nice calls from me and my husband before Empire finally came back to fix it (weeks later).

So I just scheduled an appt with Empire to give an estimate on carpet in a home we are closing on this week. Then I saw quite a few complaint websites, etc. Just wanted to know if anyone here had any complaints with or about them (good news more than welcome too!). I've heard the prices are good and I need it done quick - but if they are that bad, I'll go with Home Depot or Lowes.

Thanks so much guys!!!

I realize the answer to your question comes seven years too late, but I have to tell you, (if it's not too late), that the company Empire Carpets did NOT live up to what they advertised. The quarter molding on the laminated flooring we had installed was not as it was shown on their TV commercial. When I pointed this out to them, they asked us what package we had chosen and I said none, because we were not given an option on what package we wanted. It wasn't until I made a stink about it that they corrected it, but afterwards they made us sign a contract saying that we wouldn't bother them again. Also, three years later, the caulking is separating from the wall and base boards, some of the wooden panels creak and they are also separating. We think Empire overcharged us for the job they did. Plus we didn't see that they gave us a room free as they advertised. Everyone, please go with a reputable family owned business. You'll have a better chance of getting a better job done. Thank you for reading this.

P.S. The trait of a good solid company is when they call you and ask if you're satisfied with the results. Empire NEVER did this!

The junk samples they showed me, made me run to lowes, the guys that installed our carpet from lowes where great.
