Any experience with deep/inner sinus problems?

My DH went to the Dr yesterday suffering from a persistent headache of over a month. Recently he has gotten worse, and the doc is ordering a CAT scan and full blood work up to check his deep/inner sinus's for problems. He has a history of sinus infections, so he thinks this is the problem. He gave him a migraine medication for the headaches.

Anyone have any experience with this? I have NO CLUE how it is treated. He is not running a fever of anykind. Dr thinks he also may have low testosterone too..poor guy..he paled when he heard that..LOL

I know people that had the sinus infection that was going into their brain. Don't freak out because they recovered. It was just good that it was caught and kept an eye on. It happens.

My mom has had polyps removed.

Right now, I am having allergy issues and my ENT almost ordered something for me. However she thinks it is my lymph node that is swollen in my sinus cavity. I am REALLY suffering from allergies this season.

I had a turbinectomy about 6 years ago to try and help me out with my headaches, sinus infections and constant congestion. Unfortunately it didn't seem to help and I'm still a stuffy, mouth breather.

Not me, but my son Christian. He was about 9-10 and kept getting sinus infections one after the other for a whole year. I finally took him to an ENT. They did a CT scan of his sinuses and found that his turbinates were huge. So huge that they were trapping the sinus material up inside his cheeks. There was no natural airfllow at all, so he basically was just sitting around cooking this infection. He had sinus surgery, during which they also noted that he had a collapsed septum which they lifted. The surgery wasn't too pleasant, but he has been remarkably healthy since then. He is 15 now and has probably had about one sinus infection a year since he was 9.

A friend of DD's had chronic sinus infections and finally had surgery last year-hasn't had issues since.
