Any East Coasters in the path of this huge thunderstorm line?

Wow.. it's getting BAD here in Central VA. We are about 3 minutes away from having the storm line actually hit and it's already bad. 60mph wind and lightening all over the place - which is scary considering we have had wildfires all over the place lately!

We just moved all 4 cages of birds down into the basement and the dogs are sitting here with us just waiting for the word to run! Ack!

If you are in it's path! Be careful! They are even telling you to get your cars in garages or away from trees! :scared:

We had one line like that around 1 pm today. Another with small hail just went thru but it didn't last very long. The kids had never seen hail before so they thought that it was neat. It was just big enough to bounce off the cars so no damage. This afternoon they had golf ball sized hail about 10 minutes from here. Hope that you stay safe! According to the radar images, we are getting a different line than you are. The tail end of that one should pass north of here.

I don't think we have any thunderstorms coming our way, but they said we could get 2 inches of rain from this mess tomorrow  It's raining now too. We've had a lot of brush fires in the area though, so we need it. Surprising really after the amount of rain we had this fall and winter, but apparently 2 weeks without rain is too much in NH

Just went through here in central NC. I had to drive in the tail end of it to get DD12, who was at gymnastics. Just where you want your child to be during a Tornado Watch - in a large metal Butler building!!! We had some wind and rain, and the lightning was pretty bad, but I hope the worst of it is over now. We are under a Tornado Watch until midnight, though, so something else could develop.

My dog came IN THE BATHROOM with me and tried to hide - she is so afraid of thunder!!!!

I'm experiencing it right now. Lots of lightening and I suspect the worst is yet to come.

Did you know that you can ask your vet for the doggie equivalent of a mild tranquilizer? My dog is so afraid of fireworks and thunder and lightning, I've been afraid he would literally have a heart attack. I mentioned it to my vet and he gave me pills. Of course, I haven't had the opportunity to use them yet -- and you have to give it to the pet an hour before the actual event. He starts acting funny well before the actual storm though.

We had some nice weather come through. No hail I don't think, but VERY dark sky, heavy winds, and lots of rain. We also had the tornado watch. My DD who's at college was jealous--they only have a pollen watch--I told her to watch out for dangerous pollen. ;)

Yes! It rolled through here and was HORRENDOUS for about 20 minutes. I thought my poor cat was going to jump out of his skin!

Hey LadyyRedd

We are just north of Hagerstown. It started with the strong wind. Then came the lightening and the heavy rain. Lots of water laying in the back yard. Talked to DH about an hour ago. He's in Salisbury and it was windy but the rain hadn't started yet. I told him that he better batten down the hatches!!!

Did Salisbury eventually get something out of this storm? That's where my DD is and they just had the dangerous "pollen warning" ealier. :rotfl2:

Sounds like it's here now in Pa...it's raining and thundering and lightening....sorry, but I really enjoy a good thunderstorm...as long as no one gets hurt. I love listening to it :goodvibes

He left Salisbury right before 9:00. He ran into rain about 10 miles west of Salisbury. Didn't sound as bad as what we had. He's crossing the Bay Bridge right now. Still raining but the winds have calmed down.

The Bay Bridge, at night, in the rain with wind... :scared1: I'm just finally dealing with my bridge phobias and that would put me back at square one! :scared:

Yea, I hear ya. And he drives a tractor trailor over that thing!!! I couldn't stand being able to see over the edge that way  .

We had a horrible storm last night. We lost electricity for a few seconds here and there, just long enough to make us re-set all of our clocks (again--after the beginning of DST).

I'm glad I didn't read this last night or I would have had nightmares for your DH! :teeth: Scares me just thinking about it.
