Just wondering. I am seeing conflicting reports. Someone on another board said DVC MS and WDW CMs told them that the three month extension does NOT apply to DVC. I will be to upset if that is true. The Florida Resident Passholders are getting the extension. I don't see why our passes are any different.
:confused3
Did anyone actually get to speak to someone today who sounded like they new what they were talking about?

It is such a new policy, and MS really probably didn't even know anything about it. I would guess that since FL Resident renewal APs are included that DVCs would be, too. They have never really treated DVC ticket media differently from other ticket media. But time will tell.

Some people called and they said yes, some called and they said no.:confused3

The fact that DVC was included in the 10% off offer the past few months, I would hope we are included in this. It was treated as a regular AP. Plus it's not specifically excluded.

I exchanged a will-call renewal certificate at Magic Kingdom this evening and got my DVC annual pass renewal for 15 months. Yes. We're included.

Yea!!!

now that makes it more difficult - was going to let mind expire in March - since my next trip was not going to be until Dec,2010 - now it would also cover my May trip... decisions.

Birds of Prey: Had you paid for your renewal prior to the price increase taking effect 8/2?

Did you have anything other than a confirmation number?

I renewed our APs on 7/22...they expire 11/23...MS gave me a confirmation number, but I will not be getting anything (like a voucher)...I'm just to go to a Guest Relations to pick up our new APs next time I'm at WDW...

When I asked MS yesterday about whether I'd get 15 months of renewal they didn't know anything (and "guessed" that I would not since I'd paid for my renewal prior to the 8/2 ticket price increase)...

So...if you got 15 months w/"just" a confirmation number that you'd paid for your renewal, and if you paid for your renewal prior to the 8/2 price increase, I'll feel a lot more hopeful about getting the extra 3 months on our renewals!

Thanks...

I must have missed this- what 3 month extension?
If you are renewing an AP within 30 days of the original expiration, the new AP is good for 15 months instead of 12. This just started, and there is no indication of how long this extension perk will last.

I had renewed online a few weeks ago using the will call option. It printed out a sheet of paper with a confirmation number and a barcode. I just took that, my DVC ID, my diver's license, and my expired AP to the window for the exchange.

If you have your confirmation number, I think they'll be able to look it up.

Whether you get the 15 months is based on when you do the exchange. Since you'll be doing it after 8/2/09, you will get it, even though you purchased your renewal before the price increase. I was lucky enough to be in the same boat, and got the best of both worlds, too. Renewed at the old price, and got 15 months.

Was wondering if your current pass expires on 11/23 and you exchange in September - will the extension be added on from November or September.

I asked about it today while booking a vacation and MS said yes, there is an extra 3 month extension on the AP for DVC members when renewing! Now, here's hoping that this policy is still in effect when I can renew mine in December! :thumbsup2

The extension is an additional three months onto the renewal AP and any renewal AP would start when your existing AP expires (you cannot "exchange" your current Nov date AP for a September beginning date AP; if you renew in Sep, your renewal pass will begin in Nov when the one you have ends). However, you need to renew within a 60 day window, 30 days before or 30 days after the date your AP expires so calling in September to renew a November AP may not work, i.e., if they decide to cancel the program before October 23, that would mean anyone with a Nov 23 or after renewal date would not get the deal. In other words, they have set this up so only those with passes coming up for renewal within the next month can get it and as long as they keep it in place that one month period will keep moving day by day giving more people the opportunity to buy but they can cut it off at any time and thus someone with a Nov 23 renewal date may or may not ever get to take advantage of this.

Yep, Just renewed on the phone, and the vouchers they are mailing will say (supposedly) 12/2/10 expiration instead of 9/2/10.

Actually, I had no problem renewing my APs way more than 30 days prior to expiration...did it last year, too...last year I renewed our APs that expired the day after the price increase; this year I renewed them the day before the price increase.

Last year I simply took my confirmation number to Guest Relations on my next WDW trip, and got my new APs...I plan to do the same this year...

It appears that others posting here have gotten the 3 extra months so long as their AP expiration date is after 8/2, and I'm hopeful I will, too...but won't know til I get to WDW to get the new APs...

I have a trip 8/30-9/4, but dont know if I'll have time to get the new APs that trip...my next trip is in November, 3 days prior to my old AP expiration date...if I don't pick up my new APs over Labor Day, I'll pick them up then...
I guess I'll find out then whether we get the extra 3 months or not...but I know I could and did renew months prior to 30 days before the APs expire...
