We are looking to use our DVC points for any all inclusive resorts anywhere in the Caribbean. All-inclusive for us can just be about food and drinks, doesn't have to have other activities included. Does anyone know which resort is all-inclusive that we can use DVC points on?

Seems to me we had this thread 2 or 3 months ago. I don't recall any mandatory all inclusive's on the DVC exchange list. II has very few anyway. I don't know any of the fees for the few in II but as a rule, the ones in RCI are VERY expensive for exchangers, like $100-150 per person per day or more is not unusual and most actually require you pay for the occupancy of the unit even if you don't have that many. And most aren't the quality of a Sandals or similar.

THe only all-inclusive caribbean vacation that can be booked with points that I know of is DCL. I know that is not what you were looking for....

II lists 16 mandatory AI resorts and another 40 or so with optional AI. A little further investigations suggests that in the DR Cayena Beach Club is AI and on the DVC list as is the FDR in Jamaica as the only two 2 I could find on the DVC list. There are a couple of others listed in MX with optional AI plans that are also on the DVC list and there are 2 more where one code is listed as AI but DVC only lists a different code at the same resort such as the Casa Del Mar in Aruba. A number likely have meal plans as well. Of course this could change as a resort could go AI after the listing were published and that has been a small trend, es in MX the last few years. There are also a couple of resorts that had AI mandatory in RCI that are listed in II but not as having AI.

FDR is on the list? I guess I didn't see it that last time I looked.

It came up yesterday on the DVC exchange search for the entire caribbean.

I called member services and they told me 4 places that are AI in the Caribbean area.

FDR in Jamaica
VDC in Mexico
CMI in DR
CBQ in DR

Some of the descriptions of the resorts state that AI is optional. I would need to call them to see what the optional price for the meal plans.

She also told me 3 other places in Jamaica, DR and Mexico that are AI for adults or over 13yo only.

The two I mentioned by name are mandatory AI, there is quite a list of resorts that are listed by II as optional AI though a couple of them are mandatory for some II exchanges through II, just not DVC. Sometimes a given resort will have multiple II codes. This can happen with a phased resort and it can happen when the resort wants to designate and control developer type deposits. The only other one I could find on a quick search on the DVC II list is likely the best resort option, that is the Omni (OMI) in Cancun. It is listed as an optional AI resort. Unfortunately II doesn't have a good search option for AI vs not, RCI's isn't great either but at least you can search or exclude AI's if you want.

The only one I could find a price on easily was VDC as it's the only one I could find as listed with II and RCI. It's possible the price could be different but the price for an RCI exchanger is $84 PP, 12 and under $42. This is one of the more reasonable fees I've seen. It could change or could have changed already. As I noted earlier, it's not uncommon for the resorts that are mandatory to require you to pay the AI fee for the room occupancy even if you have less. I'd suspect that's less likely for an optional as a mandatory AI resort. Certainly for places where you wouldn't want to leave the resort much, like Jamaica or DR, or places where it's too far as some of the Cabo resorts, AI is not a bad option if the price is right. You just have to then be sure that the resort offers an AI plan with choices you'll be happy with, liek good food. Some of these resorts can rival or surpass Atlantis in cost per meal if one is not careful. For places with good and accessible restaurants, AI is a poor choice as your eliminating some of the best options in the area. This applies to Cancun, PV, Aruba and St. Marteen/Martin and similar areas.
