We have a new Ford F-150 which is a very big truck and is our good vehicle now. Had planned on flying down in May 2003 as our next trip DH surprised me today and wants to go in December 2002 and May 2003 both. It is a great truck but is kinda large, do trucks do ok down there?? Do they fit ok in parking places and all?? I figure they do, but would like to hear from someone who drove one a long distance and used it down there. We have been up home with this truck so it has been on 1000 mile trip before with us and it is very comfortable to ride in.....

I AM SO EXCITED....:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

We have a F250 and drove 2 years ago. I don't think I would like driving down in a car since we did it in the truck. (waayyy too small) Ours is the extended cab with the long bed. (just try do park at the mall during the Xmas rush! LOL) We didn't have any problems driving down or parking. What I have found is, with the long bed, if I back into a space it is much easier. I can park anywhere as long as I back it in.

A huge tip: don't pack suitecases. Put your stuff in bins, bungy cord them, and put them in the bed of the truck. We went down in Feb and there was plenty of snow in the bed of the truck. We went thru a couple of ran storms and when we got to DXL, everything was still dry. It really saved alot of space in the cab of the truck. Our back seat folds down flat and DS was able to sleep the entire night thru since it felt like his bed at home. We took 2 blankets and 2 pillows and just folded them up when we were awake.

Hi there,

In 1999 we drove our truck (F-150) to and from WDW. We had no trouble the parking spaces we found to be ample at all the parks and had no trouble at all. Have a great trip
Oh, we drove from dallas.

I drive a one ton dually around WDW all the time. Most of the time it's no problem. Parking at the theme parks is fine. The only place I don't like to go is the parking lot at Marketplace in Downtown Disney. Instead, I always park in the lot behind Cirque du Soliel. It is a huge lot with an entrance road off of Buena Vista Drive at the west end of DD (across from the entrance to TL). Most people don't know about it, and it is never full. Lots of room there to maneuver a truck.

Pickup Truck- Just bought a new F 150 also, super crew 4 door, We will be driving this to WDW in July, Had to decided if the old Explorer with high miles could make it.. First time for the big drive for us from SW MO. We have a lift top on bed so have plenty of space. Does not get the best gas mileage but still cheaper then flying. Also we have two weeks for this trip, Going to stop by Destin on the way down..... CBR99 Allstar Movies Feb2001 Allstar Music Aug 2001.....
