Me! Me!
I was a Doctor Who fan from the first round. I started watching on PBS when Tom Baker was the doctor and when it came back with Christopher Eccleston several years ago (Sci-Fi? I think?) I couldn't get into it. It was just
too different from the hokey old shows I was accumstomed to.
But we started watching again when it came on BBC America & DD fell in love with it! There's a T-shirt that says "You never forget your first doctor" and I think it's true to some extent. I still love Tom Baker & DD still prefers CE, but we both love David Tennant too.
I sat here & sobbed last night.
Talk about tear jerkers! I already knew what happened (we watched the third season on Sci-Fi before season 2 started) but it didn't help! I just read something about season 4 and I hope it's true!!
Billie Piper is coming back - at least for a few episodes. From what I read she's definitely coming back, they're just not sure if it will be longer than a few episodes. I can't wait!!
As for Torchwood...we really like this show too, but haven't watched all the way through a couple episodes. What the British feel is acceptable television doesn't always sit well with us. We're not homophobic, but sometimes it's a bit over the top. At 16, DD is the most sensitive to it. She'll get up & leave the room if her Dad is watching - whereas I'll just change the channel if it looks like it's headed in that direction. I'll confess to going back & watching the reruns on Sunday when she's doing her service work at church.
I just love Captain Jack Harkness...whatever his name is!
