Any downsides to Undercover Tourist tickets?

Ideally I want 9 day tickets. UT has 8 day and 10 day but no 9 day. Their 10 day tickets (w hopper + water) are about $14 less then the comparable 9 day Disney tickets. Since $14 isn't much, I was wondering whether there are any downsides to the UT tickets? Is there some reason I would want a Disney ticket instead??

Thanks!!

UT buys tickets from Disney in bulk at wholesales prices (about 10% off). They are actual Disney MYW Tickets just like you would purchase at the gate.

Only downside would be if the price difference negates the bundle Disney is offering.

For example if you are staying onsite and wanted the "Free memory maker" package....the discount of UT tickets might not be as good as getting MM.

Thanks! That's good to know. Right now I am using a room discount (no package) so I should be OK. But perhaps I will take one last look at the various package deals before I place an order...

As Michael said, UT sells actual Disney tickets, at a discount. I have used them for many trips and never had an issue. A couple of things to remember when ordering from UT:

First… remember that the UT prices posted INCLUDE tax; the prices on Disneys website don't have tax included.

Second… They will ask you when you need your tickets by. This is totally irrelevant regarding the ticket- they won't put a date on them or anything- but although they say they'll ship in 10-15 business days, sometimes they use this to prioritize the shipping. You want to make sure that you have your tickets in time to link them to your MDE account so you can make your FP+ reservations. I usually give them a date that's about a month away from the date that I am placing the order on.

I'd order an 8 day ticket, or even a 7 day if you need to save money. You have water parks and hopping, so you'll have PLENTY to do to keep you busy. In addition to theme park entry, you'll have multiple days of water park entry, Disney Quest, Downtown Disney, etc., as well as being able to go to outlets if you have a car. No worries about enough to do… so I'd order from UT, too, to save some extra cash.

Just found "undercover tourist" as a great option for discounted DW park tickets. Anyone have any bad news about them. Seem to be a great deal! $70 cheaper than DW for a 5 day

I forgot to mention… if you are signed up for the Mousesavers.com newsletter, there is always a link to UT for a discount that's better than what's offered to the general public.

And they send this newsletter out on the 15th of each month, so if you want to get the one for April, go ahead and sign up!

I didn't know that and I've been getting the newsletter for a while. My fault for not reading it.

You might want to search on this board for "Undercover Tourist". There was a post about a week or so ago that showed many people were not getting their tickets within the promised window and were having to call to get their tickets (after their credit cards were already charged). UT was behind in shipping. Not sure if it was a temporary deal or not, but better to be advised.

They were late in getting our tix to us. This was last month. They finally overnighted them after I called to follow up. They sent the wrong number of days (fewer) and had to email us copied of the correct tix. Meant we had to go to guest relations to convert to real tix and then we were in the hook for shipping back the incorrect tix on our own dime. I was not satisfied with this part of the outcome although ultimately we got the tix we ordered. It was a hassle. I may or may not use them again. I would be hesitant if it was a time-sensitive order.

That usually happens when Disney does a price increase. UCT will continue to sell tickets at their current price until they run out of stock. Since this last increase caught everyone off guard, I imagine there was more of a buying frenzy than usual.

We've used UT for many trips. We've had great service and we saved about $100 using them for our tickets for our upcoming summer trip. They are the same tickets you would get from Disney. I don't see a down-side as long as you plan in advance so you don't have to worry about your tickets arriving in time. For this latest purchase, they notified us when they had shipped and I had to sign for them when they arrived. We did not purchase any special shipping. Just standard. We've had great service from them!

I checked and the ticket I bought would've been $8 less had I used the Mousesavers discount. So I'll remember that next time!

The Mousesavers link is definitely the way to go. We saved $100 on our tickets with that link. :thumbsup2

You can use Disney gift cards to purchase tickets at Disney, but not at UT. Gift cards are available at discount at Target and some grocery stores (plus others places?). This gift card discount, or free gasoline, can be more than the UT discount.
