Any downsides to a lock-off?

My family (kids aged 6,4 and 4) have only ever stayed in dedicated 2-BR villas. We're thinking of places to stay for our next trip, and noticed some places like Boardwalk Villas only have lockoffs as 2-BR villas.

In terms of differences between lockoffs and dedicated 2-BR's, I know that there is the likelihood of having one queen and one pullout in the studio as opposed to two queens, having two separate entrances/exits in the lockoff vs one in the dedicated's, and the 'extra' kitchen in the studio part of the lockoff. Other than that, are there other differences that could make a difference, especially when staying with young kids?

Are there any differences in feel or function between lockoffs and dedicated 2-BR's?

At BWV all studios to my knowledge only have queen bed and pull out sofa.

None of the studios at BWV will have 2 queen beds.

Only other point I can think to mention is that the balcony of the studio unit may not connect to the 1 bedroom balcony ( believe some and maybe even all BWV lock-off 2 bedroom villas may have a seperation between the studio balcony and the 1 bedroom villa part balcony )

Don't think there are any other differences beyond what you additionally listed.

If you search the threads I am sure I have seen it posted exactly what type

beds and/or pullout sofa configurations there are in studios at all the DVC

resorts.

The only reason I prefer a dedicated versus a lockoff is because of the second door to the outside. With little ones, I just prefer having one main entrance. It wouldn't stop me from staying in one, but just a little safer IMHO.

Since all of the 2 bedrooms units are lock offs (can be rented as a studio and a 1 bedroom), all of the studios have a separate balcony. The only entrance if from the studio.

SSR has 360 dedicated two bedroom units and 432 lockoff two bedroom units.

When you try to physically picture that many units at SSR it really blows your mind.
