There's only one actual MDE, mine (and I have family members on it). So I guess that's a problem, huh? And a new ticket has to be issued for the one that was changed, huh? Why don't they tell you these things?

Thanks for the response. Yes, they have cards linked to them and we have the actual tickets. One was reassigned from one person to another though when I bought some new ones. From what was said before it seemed that would be a problemNo, it's not a problem at all. The family members on your MDE can have their own tickets, cards, and bands assigned to them. Here is my Magic Bands and cards page on my MDE account. Note the information in the red box.

So I can use any of my bands, or right now the active card (and I could re-activate any of the other cards, if I still had them) to get into a park, as long as I have a ticket entitlement linked to me.
Do the family members on your MDE account have bands or cards linked to them? If so, they can use those to enter the park. If not, they can get a new plastic card at guest relations.
Ok so it is a problem. Just great. There is no account besides mine. So they have to get a new card, huh? Why don't they tell you this?Epcotty, I hope I am helping and not making you even more confused.
Think of it this way. Once you assign a ticket to someone in MDE, that hard plastic card that the ticket came on becomes like a Magic Band. The ticket ENTITLEMENT -- the ability to enter a park using the days on the ticket -- can be reassigned to anyone else in your MDE. The actual plastic card cannot. But it's NOT a big deal. The person to whom you assign the entitlement can use any "media" in his or her MDE account to access that ticket entitlement at the touchpoint. OR, if the person does not have any such media, a quick stop at guest relations can fix the problem by getting a new plastic card.

They are listed in your MDE and they each have a specific profile/line in your MDE with previously linked tickets. You will be fine with the reassigned entitlements as long as you know which old tickets belong to each person.Ok so it is a problem. Just great. There is no account besides mine. So theoretically I could set up a new MDE account and attach the reassigned card to it? If it's already in mine that would probably cause a problem though I bet. Would it be possible to do at DTD? We'll be there soon for DisneyQuest
So does that mean that the reassigned ticket can be used as is as long as it's used by the current person assigned to it? Or would it have to be reassigned back to the original person who had it?They are listed in your MDE and they each have a specific profile/line in your MDE with previously linked tickets. The tickets link to the specific person/line's biometric scan so when it's used at the tapstile, it has to be the correct person using it.

Ok. So everyone in my MDE account has tickets assigned to them. However, one was reassigned from one person to another. I assume this still means I have to get a replacement ticket to be used by the new person, right? You keep mentioning that you are the only one with an MDE account. But each person has his or her own profile in your MDE. THAT is what I am talking about when I mention cards and bands. You can only reassign tickets within your friends and family in MDE. There is no reason to create a whole new MDE account -- in fact, it might complicate things even more.

Holy crap this is confusing. I feel so stupid. But they really should tell you these things. Ok I'll get a whole new freaking ticket at DTD when we're there or if I can't then the family member it was reassigned to will have to next time we go to a park. Why is it so confusing?epcotty - who are the people listed in your MDE account?
Those people do not need their own MDE - they each have data in your MDE.
You cannot reassign a card. That was the whole point of my first reply to the OP of this thread.
I'd have to check but I'd assume so, how would you find out? I have clicked on the different names before and had the tickets for those people show up however, I don't know if that's significant or notDoes this new person have any cards or magic bands listed in his or her PROFILE in your MDE?

And this means that all fingerprints are on file on my MDE account, right? So if a new person in my family who hasn't used tickets in my MDE before (like my brother) were to try to enter with a ticket assigned to someone else he wouldn't be able to? Is it possible to have double fingerprints by accident (one person's fingerprint counting as the fingerprint for 2 people)? I wouldn't want that to happen. I bought the tickets so relatives could buy them back from me without having to worry about price increases, but it seems to just have complicated matters
So without that I don't understand why it's completely impossible to use a reassigned ticket for entry and a replacement one must be issued if you don't have a magicband. Just why?!To be technical, it's not fingerprints, it's biometric scans. But to the point...
The scan is NOT attached to an MDE account, or to any ticket that has never been used. Scans are only attached to a ticket entitlement once it has been used, to ensure it can not be assigned to someone else.
No scans are attached to any ticket (and never an MDE account) until a ticket has been used the first time. After that you can't reassign it anyway.
