Here is some information regarding slowing your dog down while eating.![]()
The most common and most effective strategy was to place a large object that the dog had to eat around in the food bowl. The object that worked best, although it sounds a little unusual, was a heavy chain with big links. Unlike a rock, which the dog can push out of the way, a heavy link chain forces the dog to eat under and around it.
You might want to search for a bowl like this:

This bowl works on the same principle SadieDog mentioned.
I also give my Scots a digestive treat called Probios ( http://www.smartpakcanine.com/productclass.aspx?productClassId=5306&GCID=C11284x040 ) I've included a link so that you can see the product packaging. I've never ordered from this site so I cannot recommend this vendor. I did a special order at Tractor Supply for mine. These also come in a joint formula as well.
When we got our new Scottie last month, her breeder recommended adding some water and soaking the food for 15-20 minutes before feeding. It is supposed to help with bloating issues.
Also, to get information on foods check out: http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/ Tons of good information and food ratings here. Good luck. I know when we were spending so much time at the ICU hospital with our little girl who passed away, we saw several emergency bloat cases brought in. These cases appeared to be some of the highest priorities.
