I've read the Paris forum here but wanted to hear from folks on this forum. I'm checking in with the WDW folks too since I'm bi-boardal :thumbsup2

Any tips, don't miss, avoid this, never do that ideas. I'm open to anything. Would love to hear from you. The castle looks so amazing. I can't wait. I love the odd factoids and little inside scoops. Thanks in advance!

We went last fall and had quite a good time. The architecture, landscaping, etc. are a notch above what we're used to in the U.S. "Magic Kingdoms". Unfortunately the janitorial services, maintenance and upkeep, and fellow guest politness are not. Cast member courtesy and service is up to the usual high Disney standard.

My #1 recommendation is to absolutely make sure you ride BTMRR. It was the best coaster in both parks, and definitely world-class. SM was a letdown (too bumpy--we all got headaches and my wife even lost an earring!), RnRC was a letdown (same basic ride but the pre-show was gone and the decor cut-rate), although I have to admit Crush's Coaster was a real hoot.

My eight year-old daughter's favorite thing to do was Alice's Labyrinth, a cool little hedge maze at the edge of Fantasyland. I think she liked the novelty of it, but she continually reminded us that she wished they would put one in at DL.

Finally, you really do need dining reservations if you want any of the sit-down places in the parks. We didn't have them and tried several times to walk-in to Walt's, etc. and were never successful. That being said, the counter service places were universally good and reasonably-priced.

Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show was a fun way to spend an evening. It's definitely unique, and although there were hints of Hoop-De-Doo in it, it was more like an old-fashioned rodeo than a comedy show. The entire show is done in English, which was nice!

I've been 3 times (last time last summer) and LOVE it - it's as if Walt had today's technology to redo the original (and still best ) DL -- although I did notice a few places that needed a bit more attention on paint/cleanliness this last time.
this was our first time for the Studios - the Crush Coaster was a hoot! RockNRoller Coaster not as good though - no theming inside.
For the main park - make sure you go through and under the castle -- pause a while underneath - amazing. And the stained glass -done by an old master brought out of retirement - is gorgeous. Their Casey Jr is fun -much faster - and the storybook canal boats miniatures are very different and very cool -- love the Chernabog. The parade of villians was very cool too - and I understand they have an outstanding parade this year for their anniversary. Their pirates is in the order Walt showed it on TV - starting with the attack on the ciry. Also their Indy is one-of-a-kind and fun ( it's from the 2nd film ) and Space Mountain is amazing there.
There are covered "arcades" (old sense of the word) down both sides of Main St behind the shops in case of bad weather and they have cool theming to look at as well.
Finally, their Haunted Mansion ( Phantom Manor) is the BEST. Much more complete story line -- and lots of details around the manor filling in the tale of the doomed bride.
1 day isn't really enough -- but my DH isn't a park nut so that's the most I've gotten each time.
