Any DIS shareholders out there?

This topic may not be appropriate for this board, or even this site, but I can't think of a better place to start.

I'm thinking of joining the DIS dividend reinvestment plan, but besides the financial side of the decision, I was wondering if there were any "perks" to owning DIS shares. I don't mean park discounts or anything like that, only little stuff, maybe included with annual reports or proxy materials. I'm interested in teaching my kids about the value in saving and putting money to work, and using their love for Disney could help spur that.

I'd even like to maybe get one share transferred into each of their names and have certificates issued for them. Do the certificates have Disney themes instead of the boring standard stuff?

Sorry for slowing the board down, but if you think about it, Disney magic isn't limited to the parks or movies. Who knows? If we're lucky and can invest enough over time, our dividends may pay for a trip one day! That would be pretty sweet.

Thanks in advance.

I own quite a few shares of Disney common stock and you really don't get anything special except voting rights, dividends every year (at 21 center per share). You do get an annual report but you don't even have to be a shareholder to get one as it is pulic information.

If you want to check out a neat gift. Go to this link.

You can get the actual stock certficate framed and it is not folded or have any creases in it. I have one for my son with the frame my first stock and I also got him Pixar as well since at the time they were with pixar and it had the pixar characters at the bottom.

I couldn't, of course, help buying one for myself all framed and nice on on my plaque I have walts saying, "I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing - that it was all started by a mouse."

and apparently that vote means pretty much nothing given the lack of any significant changes in the Board or the management despite an unprecedented no confidence vote by so many in March....

with that now defunked Comcast bid was that I was going to have to take my little girls stock certificate out of the frame and send it in for a boring Comcast certificate. Thank God that didn't happen.
