Any DDR experts out there? Please help.

I know nothing about this but it is the one thing our DD wants for Christmas.(Dance Dance Revolution for those of you without pre-teen girls ) So, we're planning on getting her a PS2 console to run it. Beyond that, I'm kinda lost. I think there are different DDR programs to buy. With different music maybe? Different difficulty levels? Any recommendations on which DDR programs to get? Which dance mat? What should we not do? Anything else that those with more experience would recommend would be so helpful to this novice!

Yes, there are different programs to buy. I have DDW Max I think, and it is pretty good. I like that it has a game mode and a workout mode (which doesn't score), so DD7 can play and not worry about failing. I bet all the games have this, though.

I was in Best Buy yesterday, and I didn't see any DDR games for PS2. I didn't ask anyone, so they may have been there and I didn't see them.

I would strongly suggest you invest in a good mat. We have a padded mat (I can't remember the name of it), but it was around $100. The plastic mats would slip all over our floors.

I bet your daughter will love it. We have a blast.

9 DD has DDR Mario Remix for game cube. It starts out much easier than DDR does.
She has played DDR (the origional I believe) with several of us at a friends house (mostly teens and adults playing) and the easiest level is too hard for her. The Mario Remix has some really cool mini games and several different play modes (you can just do mini games, songs, story mode and free play too I believe)
