Put in to-go boxes. I've heard of all the delicious cupcakes from Starring Roles, Contemporary, Roaring Forks, etc. Has anyone successfully gotten cupcakes from any of these places and had them put in to-go boxes? I'd like to get one (or two!) and then take it back to my resort balcony. If not in a box, I don't think it would make the trip very well.

they did not have a special box for the cupcakes at Starring Rolls last Fall...they offered to put it in a foam sandwich-style box, but that would have smashed it pretty good. So we just ate it:laughing:

If you're staying at Beach Club (if I'm reading your vacation ticker right) then you could just go over to Boardwalk Bakery...they usually have a nice selection of cupcakes) Upright in a bag for that short walk would probably be OK for a cupcake. Also, if you go over to Karmel Kuche in Germany/Epcot, they have some yummy cupcake choices which I *think* that my son got one and they did pack it in a cupcake-sized box...that would not be a bad walk back to Beach Club either.

Most of those places won't box them up for you but they will give you a box and you can put the cupcake in the box yourself. The problem is that many times the boxes are not tall enough to pack the cupcake and leave the icing intact.

You may have better luck at a resort than in a park. Photos were released recently of grab and go, already packages specialty cupcakes in the food court at Art of Animation.

The cupcakes down the BoardWalk at SeaShore Sweets are in the display case, but they give it to you in an ice cream cup.

The cupcakes in the refrigerator section at Beach Club Marketplace are in boxes.

I got a cupcake at Main Street Bakery in the Magic Kingdom. You could put it in a box if you wanted, but the cupcake was too tall for the box. I decapitated the cupcake -- I cut off the frosting and put it in the box next to the cake part. Not as aesthetically pleasing, but I then ate the cupcake with a fork while walking through the Magic Kingdom to meet my family.

Most people have reported bad luck with getting the Starring Rolls cupcakes to go.

Have you checked out the Show Me The Cupcakes thread?

The Boardwalk Bakery gives you the cupcake in a fancy clear plastic box that seems tailor built for it. Really cool!

Resorts that carry cupcakes usually have them in the "grab and go" section, per-packaged in perfect containers. :thumbsup2 We've seen them at AoA, BC, the Poly, the Contemporary...I imagine all resorts who sell cupcakes offer them this way now.

And if all else fails, a simple paper bag works pretty well for cupcakes on the go. I snagged a cupcake on our way out of AK recently and they only had plain paper (lunch-sized) bags...I did hold it carefully on the way home, but when I unearthed it was in near perfect condition!

At the Contempo Cafe and Boardwalk Bakery they put your to go cupcakes in cupcake "suitcases." The cupcakes fit perfectly.

Last weekend I had purchased 2 cupcakes from Staring Roles to actually take home w me (I don't live far) they helped me pack them away singularly with what looked like a variation of chinese take out boxes (black) then because you couldn't really fasten the top she taped the tops with masking tape...they made it home beautifully...good luck!

I got a cupcake with my lunch at Roaring Forks- it was prior to leaving on ME and I wound up not being able to eat it with my lunch. I asked the cashier if it was ok if I could take a beverage cup to put it in (since it had a cover). She agreed and it fit perfectly. Grabbed a spoon to go with and had a great little snack before our flight.

We take stuff home from the French bakery almost on a weekly basis. No problem.

Maybe it depends on the CM's working at the time? We also purchased 3 to go on 6/6, and were told they would give us a box at checkout - when we got to checkout, they didn't have any boxes in the store. We had to transport them in individual bags.

boardwalk bakery is the best arrangement i've seen...

and the strawberry shortcake cupcake (with alcohol) is one of the greatest desserts i've seen yet...and i've been to LOTS of renowned dessert spots...particularly in NYC

BabyCakes at DTD (in with Pollo Campero) has takeaway containers for their various treats-including cupcakes! We bought a few things there last Fall and they made it back home (well to my in-laws) in one piece!

On a side note, their items are vegan and they have made one of the best vegan brownies I have ever come across!
