I want to hear opinions of POR from the CSR camp! I am considering trying POR this year, but it's hard since I already know that I love CSR. I really want to try all the resorts...

We've stayed at both POR and CSR and we GREATLY prefer CSR. We intend to go back to CSR this summer. We don't plan on returning to POR at all. To us, CSR seemed cleaner and we loved the theming. The grounds at both are beautiful but we thought more so at CSR. We stayed in Alligator Bayou at POR because there are 5 of us and we really didn't like the trundle bed. I don't like the idea of being so close to the floor where people walk in all kinds of dirt. At CSR we had 2 rooms because there were 8 of us for that trip. We were able to get connecting rooms with an AP rate so we thought that was great. We're hoping for the same thing for summer. We stayed in the ranchos and every morning took a bus up to El Centro to have breakfast at Pepper Market. Also, the buses were never very crowded and we were there for Christmas week. CSR doesn't share buses with any other resort so it seemed like we got to the parks and back quicker. Overall we LOVE CSR and will return there.

Isn't it great that we all have our own preferences? Otherwise we'd all be fighting for rooms at the same resort! Our family will NEVER return to CSR again--just our own opinion, while we LOVED POR!! We stayed in the Mansions section (Magnolia Bend) --what beautiful landscaping, scenery, etc. Plus you get the boat to DTD! I think you'll really enjoy the atmosphere of this resort. Give it a try--we'd like to try them all some day!:earsgirl:

I have stayed at all 4 moderates and I really like CSR, POR and about the same with the PO French Qaurter coming in last. It is fun to try the different resorts to get that different feeling. Where CSR is wide open with big views, POR has loads of trees (a forrest in the Alligator Bayou section) and doesn't have quite so many expansive views. The "river" is not really wide so it is not like looking across the lake at CSR or CBR. I love the 3 different sections at CSR and in particular the Ranchos but I like the forested Bayou section and last May stayed in my first Mansion home which really surprised me with the feel there. It really seems like you are satying in someones giant estate.
CSR is colorfull inside and out. POR is much more muted with greens, tans, whites, grays and light blues.
I like the food at Pepper Market best but I prefer the ambiance of the Cotton Mill food court at POR.
If you have been to CSR a few times go ahead and give PORt a try. It is just as nice and fun but in a different way!

We've stayed at CSR 4 x's & POR 10 x's. We ( my DD & I ) simply prefer the quiet, shaded, rustic atmosphere at POR better, as well as the food court choices. We love the boat to DD, too. I do prefer the pool at CSR because there seems to be more lounge chairs & I like being able to refil my mug right there. However, I keep returning to POR - the AB section has such lush landscaping, and there are rabbits, ducks, etc... roaming freely - it's like being out in the country, and not in the middle of the hustle & bustle of thousands of people. Even when the resort is full, I've never felt crowded there. The mansions are gorgeous & have a "deluxe feel" to them. Just my opinion. Have a great time!:D

Wow!!! You guys did not make my decision any easier! I think we will have to go back to CSR and try POR as well. I can't wait for POFQ to open up again, so we can try it!

Me too is a sure fan of CSR. I like the clean well kept feel of the entire resort. The pool is great when weather is warm. I have only stay one time in POR, after staying inat CBR, I have to say I prefer POR. I cannot forget how relaxing and beautiful the walk I toke around the waterway one afternoon at POR. It is breathtaking ! If you have not try POR, why not. I was not disappointed at all. Good Luck with your choice !
