Anybody recently purchase a Cricut machine? I've been debating on getting one, but am avoiding it because of the expensive cost. Is it true the extra cartridges are $99?

EDIT TO ADD: Do any of you regret buying the machine?

The regular price for cartridges is $89.99, $99.99 for the Disney cartridges. However, just last week, Michaels had cartridges on sale for $40. So that is what most people here do, wait for sales. Hobby Lobby will sell them 2 for $99, AC Moore will have them 50% off. Walmart's regular prices are like $64.99. You can find them online for cheaper than retail too. And of course there is always ebay.

I have 2 and love them!!!! I always buy my supplies when they are on sale too. I like the Cricut because it's easy to use and portable, I take mine to crops.

I love my Cricut! I bring it to crops and I think I got my money's worth this past April at a weekend crop. We used it pretty much all weekend :)

I did have both, but sold the first one on Kraig's list in a matter of hours!

I love my cricut. I credit it with getting me back into scrapping 2 years ago after a brief creative slump and scrapping hiatus. I usually by my carts on sale, but have been known to buy on ebay when it's one I really want.

You can find some really good deals on the internet. Creative Express is having some really good deals on carts right now.

I have both machines and I love them! I can't tell you how much prettier my pages are now, and I've made cool cards and gift bags/boxes, too. I never pay full price for cartridges as there are frequent sales on them.

Regret? Oh no, not at all.

I love my Cricut!! There's no regret at all about getting them except about why did I wait so long to finally buy one! I got the baby bug last October and DH saw how much I loved it and was impressed with what it would do so he got me the Expression for Mother's Day. There are times when I'm using both at the same time. As for the cartridges, the best way is to wait until there is a sale. I got almost all of my cartridges on sale. I've only paid full price for maybe 2. My DH is an enabler when it comes to the Cricut and is always saying "don't you need this cartridge?"!!
