Any Costume Ideas for Mickey's Trick-or-Treat Party?

Maybe you guys might have some ideas. We may have a group of 4, and we'd love to go as a themed Disney group... we have two sets of couples. We came up with Peter Pan charcters but figured the guys might not be too hot on being Peter, lol.

Otherwise, maybe 2 sets of semi together themed groups... like two couples or something. Anyone have any ideas? We'd love Disney ideas over anything else...

My SIL made these costumes...

Wow what great costumes. We haven't decided on anything yet. I love Alice in Wonderland and would love to pick some characters from that story, but I'm not sure DH and the nephew will go for them. I think they want to be pirates haha. I'm also thinking of maybe trying to sew something for my daughter. I think Minnie Mouse would be easy maybe LOL. I have no sewing experience so I think I might start early and see how it goes so I can always buy something if it doesn't work out. Anyone else sew any costumes? I did see the Disneyboutique thread, great info there!

here's a really cheap one I do every year.

get a Red fleece robe or any red robe, wear a white t-shirt abd jeans. get one of those DL Mickey sourcer's hats a set of mickey hands from the park as well.

voila, can you tell where I'm going with this :) if you want to toss in a little extra, get a mop and a bucket. :)

I love this costume cause I can get away with wearing a robe to work on halloween :)

cheers

That is my SIL in her costume. I agree she is a wonderful seamstress. She posted everything on www.wewantstheredhead.com it tells you what fabric she used. Where she got the shoes. I on the other hand do not sew, at all.

i really really really wanted to go as princess jasmine b/c ive always LOVED her, but after having my son my belly is not in the best of shape! hahaha (my dh was gonna be aladdin, and ds ABU!) now im thinking we all go as the incredibles, but do they have a costume for a 15 month old for that? something comfortable for a toddler to wear for a few hours would be ideal :) any ideas?

I'm pretty sure they sell the ones with a "shirt". It's a really cute idea!

Ok so anyone think that going as Walt Disney to over the top? Im just tryin to think of way to make it obvious with making the little dress up as Mickey...lol

We didn't go last year, but my daughter was tigger here at home. She was a year and a half and it was great because it was kind of chilly outside. I got it at babies r us for pretty cheap too.

We went last year but only the boys dressed up. They werent dressed to any theme or anything, but there costumes were kinda 1 of a kind in regards to everyone else in the park. My youngest was Jiminy Cricket, the 4yo was Sulley, and my now 9yo was a skeleton pirate. Very cool costumes, I got all of them off of ebay.

I remember 2 families specificly that had very cute themed costumes. One was a family of 4, dad was Sulley, toddler was Mike, baby was Boo, and mom was a member of the CDA.
The other family I think was a family of 6. Woman was provinvial Belle (blue dress), man was Gaston, another woman was the chest of drawers from Belles room, little girl was Babette, little boy was Cogsworth, little bigger boy was Lumiere. Very cute costumes. I took pictures of them (as did many other people) and as I was doing that, another group of people walked by and one was dressed as Mrs. Potts, so of course she got in the picture with the rest of the Beauty and the Beast crew!!

I LOVE THE WE WANTS THE RED HEAD COSTUME!!!

thanks disney-inspired! thats a great idea, im going to look for one :)

Well one year I was Malificent for Halloween so maybe Ill wear that, It is a costume I made out of velvet so it is nice and warm. And then last year Dfi and I were the bride and groom from the HM. But I think that may be too scary for little kids.
Dfi maybe one of the Princes. We'll see my pretties......

I just love this board!!! So happy to see that I'm not the only one thinking of Halloween already.

We just got our AP yesterday and signed up online to go to the Halloween Party-haven't been before and just can't wait.

I have never been to this but I'm interested in trying it this year. I've had a pass for a while but have never done the party despite the special offers. Plus I'll be at college nearer to Disneyland by October.

What percentage of adults wear costumes?
And how crowded is it? Doesn't seem like Disney is limiting ticket sales, but yet they're offering free parking...
Oh and I assume this is not true, but does your costume have to be Disney related?

I'm also no good at sewing things so I might have to thrift shop, because I think buying a full costume online would mean that everyone will have the exact same costume as I do which is no fun. Costumes I would consider trying would be:
  • Elizabeth Swann
  • Padme Amidala
  • Princess Fiona (isn't that blasphemy?)
  • Hermione Granger
  • Giselle (Enchanted)
  • Jane (Tarzan)
Depending on what I can get.
I'd rather not wear a wig so those are all ones I can do the hair for.

What would you say as far as originality and costume cost?

Hopefully I can find someone to go with so I'll be more likely to commit, I haven't worn a costume for Halloween in years!

We just booked our res for GCR and purchased our tix for the Oct. 22nd party! I just bought the 'Jack' t-shirts at DS for $2.99. With the additional cost of checking luggage we will not be bringing the elaborate costumes like those that I have seen on the boards. Besides flying east coast to west coast I would be freakin out if the luggage did not arrive with us.

This will be our second trip to DL. We were there in Nov. last yr. and saw the transformation of fall colors to the Christmas holiday decor. It was really cool.

I'm going to MTOTP the same night! Maybe I'll see you there, when I find my costume I'll post it!

Haven't decided if we're going this year or not...job situation...but in the past DS and I have gone as Jack and Sally (disneyshopping.com costumes). One year I was Cruella (thrift store...found a black dress, found some furry white fabic and made a simple wrap, ordered a wig from ebay) and DS was a Jedi Night (grandma made a Jedi robe for him from a monk costume pattern, and he just wore tan sweatpants and tshirt under). If we go this year we'll be Tia Dalma and Ragetti (the pirate with the fake eye). We've already got the costumes because of Pirate Night on our Disney Cruise this summer.
