hi guys
Bad as this day is going now i have computer issues and cant get on vmk.
I installed shockewave and flash again, rebooted, clean files and nothing.
Ive gotten this application error on vmk but didnt get to get a pic of exactly what it is.
Anyway, if i go thru windows, open vmk, click on the green play now button that window will not even open.
If I go in thru pal, sign in, all i get is the bsod.
Anyone have any ideas for me?

Are you running Windows XP? Did you try system restore?

From what I hear the latest version of shockwave isnt working with alot of programs,

When you uninstall shockwave you should do it from the uninstaller on the Adobe page to get rid of it entirely. just google search Shockwave uninstall.

Then look and see if you can get the version BEFORE the update. you might have to look somewhere other than Adobe for that like try downloads.com

1. Uninstall shockwave and clear your temp files.
2. Reinstall shockwave.

if it's an issue with the new shockwave, it should ask you if you want to install it, but then it will still go to the log in page. and the lag is bad today, so the bsod could just be from that.

I've been getting the BSOD for weeks now. Sometimes it takes use all day long trying to get and I'll generally get in about 2 hours before closing.

I've done all the things you have done too. For me it started about 2 weeks ago.

make sure you get the version before the new up date
there was a post of an older version that worked. Try posting anyone know where to get older shockwave version.

It worked for me.

oh my get me some duct tape for my mouth.
I un installed and dl'd this version. Now when I click to sign on, I dont get the message about updating vmk but it wont let me on either. Just get that bsod.

1. Follow the steps in this thread : Click here

2. If the steps didn't work, then try resetting IE. If you really want to try this, go to Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - Reset Internet Explorer Settings (WARNING: It clears cache + disables ALL add ons + changes homepage)
To enable add ons go to Tools - Internet Options - Advanced (check mark Enable third-party browser extensions under the browsing menu)

3. If nothing worked, try booting your computer into safe mode. ONLY visit the VMK site and try logging in. When you're done playing VMK, log off and restart your computer..

I haven't done anything with shockwave so not sure this will help but last night I got that bsod......what I did was keep hitting the F5 key while on that bsod......might take a few times of hitting it but then it went and loaded for me........good luck!

As fun showed in the links, i've been battling this beast myself. So far I've had no lucky, despite what my title might indicate. I'm no help, but I completely sympathize. A friend of mine has invited me over so I can join in the fun on the last day. In any case, I'm sorry this happened to you too. GL to all my wonderful vmkers out there.

If you're talking about the shockwave memory problem, removing all .cct files CAN help.

I sure appreciate all your help. Im clueless where computers are concerned. Actually I did search my computer today for .cct files and didnt find a one. Is that odd? I read the link I think bluemonkey posted. But like I said I did not find one of those files with that extension on the c drive.

Most of them are hidden, are you sure you checked off "search hidden files" aswell?
