Hi everyone, I'm looking at going on Saturday for 10 days, does anybody know of any clean, cheapish hotels with Free internet access in the rooms, preferably in the Lake buena vista area.

Thanks

Most of the rooms at the Best Western Lakeside have free WIFI, we have stayed there a coupe of times and there are some very good deals to be had.
:goodvibes

Should of said as well that it's on the 192 up by the Sherbeth Road entrance to AK. :)

BW lakeside is a good value resort at about £23/night but as said not LBV.

Around LBV going this Sat for 10 days I found these.

Monarch.co.uk(less 5% thru Quidco)
Stayed here twice, ask for a room near reception for free wireless, rooms further away are free wired connection, nice free breakfast, fridge & microwave in every room, £34/nt: Country Inn & Suites Lakes Buena Vista Lake Buena Vista

Stayed here once, not my fave place but its had a recent refurb so should be better. Hotels.com have Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista Orlando (now Clarion Inn Lake Buena Vista, A Rosen Property) at £30/night(less 9% Quidco)

We have gone for this one for Feb Holiday Inn Express Lake Buena Vista thru Alpharooms(reminds me I need to pay the balance this evening) £38/night (less 5% Quicdo) Done a lot of research and hardly anyone has a bad word to say about it.

They look to be the pick of the under £40/nt hotels.

We stayed in Hawthorne Suites LBV and wi-fi was free in rooms and lobby.

Taking this a little off-topic, but I'm looking at suite hotels in LBV at the moment and Hawthorne are coming up with a really competitive price. However I can't see many recent reviews for it on the Hotels board and so don't want to rush into booking it without getting some opinions first - what did you think of it when you stayed there Reid?

If you decide you want to stay there post the best price you can find and your dates, I will see if I can see a better price. When I looked at Hawthorne earlier today I was getting prices anywhere from £45 to £85/night. Massive difference.

Thanks for all the info guys,

Decided to go a little further out from LBV and went for Caribe cove resort as expedia (Quidco) had a decent deal on, got a 3 bed 2 bath suite for £515 for the 10 nights, It gets decent write up on Trip advisor but they do have a one off cleaning charge and daily resort charge.

Fingers and legs crossed I made the right choice :confused3

Glad you got something sorted Pete.
Did Expedia say there is a resort fee or you seen it on reviews? Usually resort fees are not applicable if paying upfront with a UK agent.
In all the 17 years, 24 trips we have been we have never paid a resort fee even though many have said they charge (Best Western Lakeside, Regal Sun + more)
Ok if you have to pay, bonus if you don't.
Have a great trip.

It mentioned the charges on the Caribe cove website, Expedia website and also from the reviews (UK residents) on Tripadvisor, at least we know about them so no nasty surprises.

1st time at Christmas time and hope to see the launch of the Shuttle on the 3rd / 4th Dec.

Pete.

Sorry shuttle launch has been pushed back again now looking at 17 December.

The parks look lovely at the moment we only got back last week. Try and visit some of the resorts as well as they look great too.

Have fun:goodvibes

Were destined never to see a launch, missed so many over the years due to delays, nevermind we will have great time looking at everything else :thumbsup2

We had a couple of small issues with the room that were resolved.
Pool was not the largest.
Having free coffee available at any time of the day and the breakfast every morning was a nice touch.
We would definitely stay here again.

We booked this through Virgin but are doing DIY for Florida next year.

This was only our second trip to WDW. The first was a condo at Kissimmee and then at LBV.
Not sure where we will be staying next year but LBV is definitely our choice of location.

i find daily resort fees so very irritating...
why don't they just put it into my rate? why nickel and dime me...
perhaps it has something to do with taxes, but i really hate resort fees...

Welcome home Pete, how was Caribe cove resort? and the rest of your trip?
Did you get charged the resort fee?

Hi Wayne,

Caribe Cove Resort was really good for the price, we had a 3 bed 2 bath suite, it was far bigger than Cypress point or Blue Heron, the pool area looks far too small for the size of the resort, maybe a big problem when the place is busier in the summer, I felt the resort was a little further out on the 192 than we would really have wanted but was still only 20 mins to the Disney parks via Sherbeth road.

We enjoyed this trip far more than previous trips, mostly due to it being a 1st time visit in December and seeing all the decorations, Osborne lights (Amazing) and Cinderella castle lit up with the ice lights (WOW) crowds were easily managable providing you did all the favourites at rope drop.

The resort fees were payable locally $65 for departure cleaning and $5.95 per day + taxes, we knew about this prior so no major shock.

We would go back again if the price was right :)

Pete

Glad you enjoyed it.
Xmas is amazing over there. Unfortunately being in retail I can't go til Xmas day or Boxing day and have to be back for start of school so a mega busy time of year, far better if you can go when you did.
