I was wondering now that the free dinner plan start (today Aug 21) if there have been any changes made. Anyone use it today?

BUMPING up for thr dedicated regulars who are still enjoying their day at the park AND EATING FOR FREE!!!!! bump for when they get in!

I'm just curious, what kind of changes are you expecting? We're going next week and on the dining plan, I'd like to know ahead of time if it's changed, so we can change our plans. I haven't heard any rumors of changes.

I'm thinking there will be no changes! :cool1:

But because there were many who thought they would stop the pooling of credits and have harsh limitation on what you could get on the plan.

I guess I'm just hoping to prove them wrong. :confused3

Time for a bump! There has to be at least one person out there who will go back from the parks to their resort so they can get on their computers and answer our question!

I just realized... it seems there are lots of little problems here and there, such as confusion over which items count. If they suddenly changed the plan then you can only imagine how much arguing and confusion there will be with people who did not hear about the changes. So changes in the dining plan would require some planning on Disney's part, and I am sure something would leek to this site before it changes.

Well, rumors have leaked that they were going to do something about the kids/adult credit pooling, but nothing substantiated.

As to the confusion, it's really not confusing what is OFFICALLY included in the plan. What confuses people is that some people get extras that aren't included in the offical plan, and when they don't get them they complain.

It's really the TS that people debate about. You get one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert. Period. Some people have been able to add a skewer of shrimp add-on, for instance, for free because they got an especially kind server, others will have to pay for it. Like anything at Disney, you shouldn't EXPECT the extras, just be happy when you get them (and the less you demand the more likely you will be to get something).

Most of the complaints out there are about this, or "I wanted two apps and a dessert instead of one app, one entree, one dessert". Is it entirely fair that the "extras" depend on your server? No, but I'd rather get the benefit some of the time instead of an iron-clad rule and no one ever does.

I believe that eventually they will stop the child/adult pooling. It just doesn't make sense that someone can pay $10/day for a child and get $60+ worth of food for it. That restriction is very reasonable, and I hope they leave it at that.

Personally I don't think anything has been changed at this moment.

What? But I want towel animals and magical moments certificates! And if I don't get them, my entire experience will be ruined! RUINED, I tell you! How can they call this place magical without giving me all the extras every time? ;)

Oh, and I want an Oompa Loompa, Daddy, and I want it NOW!

They can go ahead and pool them on one card but maybe have 2 seperate categories like CS is seperate from TS. I just don't think its right that because Disney has a glitch that it should be taken advantage of. Why should adults be able to use children's credits? All this is going to do is have Disney either increase the price of the dining plan for children or not have a dining plan for children, just adults.
