I haven't found it to be at all predictable in years.Wondering if there are any changes to DVC mousekeeping due to the pandemic. Still trash and towel on day 4? Are they still doing trash removal /security check daily? Thanks.
I expect that without daily housekeeping, the rooms get pretty messy and need longer to clean between guests. So strange that it sounds like they’ve given up many of their housekeeping duties, but yet I still see many reports of people getting late check-ins. Seems like they could turn over rooms more quickly if they aren’t ”burdened” with daily trash removal and replacing towels.
In reading the website policy, it does appear there is one change: they are no longer giving an option to pay a fee and get additional housekeeping. But otherwise the same.
It's crazy that Housekeeping at the same resort is so inconsistent.Just got back from Bwv. No daily trash pickup. we had to take it ourselves several times. I think housekeeping did it twice at odd random times. A no-show on towel & trash day. We called and never got it on another day. They just brought up a bag of towels. We had to call for coffee (since nothing got replenished) One day the studio side of our 2 bedroom got a random T&T service, but never came over to the 1 bedroom side, even though the doors were open. Had to call for more shampoo too. We spent a lot of time calling housekeeping this trip.
I think it depends on what they do with the cash side. I keep hearing that staffing is the biggest issue they have with housekeeping at the moment. If they get staff back up to normal levels to where they can provide guests staying on cash bookings daily housekeeping, I think the paid option for guests staying on points will return.Do you think this is permanent, or will it come back after things go back to normal? We would definitely pay for daily housekeeping. Three teenagers really grime up a bathroom.
No, we still get exactly what our contract says dues cover: trash/towel on day 4 and full clean on day 8. The ability to pay extra to get extra housekeeping was not covered by dues (hence, why you had to pay extra for it).So we got a big increase in dues to cover a pay raise for the CMs and we get less for it???

We got back from BWV 3 weeks ago. Every day, our trash was removed. We received a full housekeeping on Day 4, & new towels & amenity replacement on Day 8 (12 day stay) in our 1 bdrm. Our son & DIL were in a Studio the week prior, & got new towels & amenities on Day 4.
But the dues we pay don't cover 100% salaries for the full housekeeping staff--they cover a pro rata portion of housekeeping cost in the amount necessary to provide the day 4/8 service for guests staying on points. Disney pays pro rata their portion of the share for housekeeping to cover guests staying on cash at DVC resorts (pre-covid, that was daily full houskeeping; now, it's every other day trash/towel service). So even though there have been staff reductions, that could just be reducing the costs on the Disney side rather than the member side--especially since the Disney/cash-side housekeeping is drastically reduced even though DVC/member housekeeping has remained largely the same.If they don't have the staff they need but we're still paying dues for full staff then we are not receiving what we are paying for. Several comments above are indicating that.
