Any chance of room discounts for Dec ?

Disney is getting really expensive & I've been reading alot more about Universal & that I can make monthly payments for AP's for my family & that there are good discounts for dining & shopping. That sounds like savings to me ! So far I'm only worried about AP codes or FL resident codes for the on-site resorts (I would prefer RPR or HRH) for the week of 12/17 - 12/23. But I don't want to pay too much. I know my DS (3) would love Grinchmas, Barney, Jimmy Neutron etc. & I really want the FOTL. Any chances, guesses, hopes out there for me to have at least some hope ? What have others gotten in the past

I stayed HRH 12/19-12/24 last year for $144/night poolview. The rate for 12/24 through the new year jumped to $288/night for the same room. Have you tried calling yet?

I usually just check their website for any specials & then decide. It wouldn't be too early for Dec. to call now ?
