Any chance of getting in to DD Restaurants on short notice?

We have planned a quick trip to SSR in the next ten days. Do you think we can walk up to any of the restraunts in DD and get in? I am not expecting we won't have to wait I am just curious if we will get sent away? Should I wait and call for ADR in the "if you are in the Orlando area and booking within the next seven days" or something like that that I always hear, but never use because I always have my ADR's planned! I would love to just be able to get into one of the DD Rest. or the SSR Turf Club.

Any advice?

When we were vising in February, I called one day to just check about an ADR (Cindy's)...and got in for the next day! :cheer2: They had a cancellation, which apparently is fairly common. I just happened to call at the right time. I would recommend calling the ADR line and just checking - you never know! We had even stopped at the restaurant the night before and were told they would never know about cancellations, but to call the number. Sometimes people's flights don't arrive on time, or someone gets sick, plans change, etc. :headache: Never hurts to try! I know it is hard to "wing it", but with any luck you will get just what you want. My son's favorite saying...Dreams do come true! :cloud9:

DD as in Downtown Disney?

You should not have a problem getting a spot in most, if not all, of those restaurants. I've wandered into just about all of them without a reservation without issue (or even much of a wait).

Rainforest will likely be the hardest to walk into.

On our recent trip in May we called the day we arrived to try to find somewhere to eat dinner at DD that night. Several of the restaurants did not take same-day ADR's and the phone rep said we should be able to get a table as a walk-up. With my parents and my kids I wanted something more definate so we took an ADR for Portobello Yacht Club. So, you should be able to get something without too much of a problem.

I don't believe Rainforest takes adrs so that might be an option if you are not on the dining plan. Might be a wait, but atleast you could get in at some point.

I would call "day of", if not before. I've called before leaving home (1 hr. drive) & made an ADR for HOB. (I could have also gotten one for RR. I didn't ask about any others.) When we checked in those walking in were being told it would be a 1 hr. & 45 min. to 2 hr. wait. We were seated right away. In our experience, it's always better to have any ADR than try to get in w/o one.
