Any chance I'm getting into Ohana's?

Our WDW vacation starts a week from today. I would really like to take the family to Ohana for dinner. However, I've been calling sporadically over the last couple months and every day for last 2 weeks and the earliest they can give me for the 4 nights we are there is 9:40. This is way too late since I have a 4 and 2 year old. What has your experience been with getting a last minute reservation?

Do I have any chance at this point.....There will be 5 of us (3 adults/2 kids)

Take the 9:40 reservation and show up at 5:00. That has always worked for me, they get me right in!!;)

Does it open at 5:00? What size table were you when you have done this? I'm hesitant to do this, because if we schlep over to the Polynesian and they don't take us, I'll have 2 cranky/hungry kids on my hands. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

I would also try to get there a few minutes before they open. Hopefully they will be able to get you in. If not, there is always Kona. Depending on what you are doing that day if you are in MK you are just a short monorail ride away to more food. You could also try the counter service at the Poly - if everyone is really starving.

I know this is way too late for children, but could you find something for them to eat and snack yourself and then maybe they would sleep during dinner? I know it isn't the best solution. If they could get you in earlier that would be great!

The main reason I'd like to go is because I think the family would enjoy it It sounds like there is some "entertainment" for the kids, which means that the adults could enjoy their meal, while the kids are also having fun at dinner time.

I'm just going to keep calling and wish for the best. :genie:

Thanks

'Ohana is one of the most popular restaurants in the MK area. It books up early, and solid, and there are very few cancellations.

I think your only chance of getting a better time is to call back every day to check; you might be lucky enough to snag a time after someone else has cancelled. But showing up with no ressie and expecting to get a table is a recipe for disaster; most nights, 'Ohana doesn't even accept walkups, and they are booked so solid that there are no tables left when they open up at 5pm.

I recommend making ressies somewhere else, and keep trying for 'Ohana. If you happen to get into 'Ohana, you can cancel your backup ressie, but if you don't, then you can use the backup ressie. Good luck - you're gonna need it!

I have the same problem. We also will be there in a week. I REALLY wanted Ohana, but like you said 9ish with 3 small kids was a no-go for us. We finally settled on Kona. Maybe we'll check with Ohana that morning on the off chance that there is a cancellation- who knows maybe we'll get lucky but I doubt it.

how bout this.....make that 9:40 reservation also make a 520ish reservation at Kona, keep calling till your trip (and even when you are there) to try for an earlier time. Day of reservations, go to ohana at 5 to try what PP suggested if it doesn't work at least you will have a back up!

I know what you mean my children are 2 and 1 no time for meltdowns at the world! :lmao: Good luck :thumbsup2

We did not have reservations in June for Breakfast, but I kept calling and had no luck. We showed up at 720, they opened at 730 and they took us right in.

Try getting there 30 minutes before they open for dinner service. We had 6pm ressies in April and were there super early. They did take a few walk ins but after about 4 parties they said no more walk ins for the rest of the night
