Any chance another 40% code will be released this year?

I'm confused: do you have to have a reservation in order for them to look up your name? Otherwise, how would they have your name?

Also, does the 40% off code apply only to rooms or the entire package?

If you've stayed at a Disney resort relatively recently (I see your last time was in the '80s, that may be too long ago), they would have your name. Last year I called for a reservation, and my last visit was in 2003, and they had my name and a code (30% off) in the system.

I think they may also have your name in the system if you signed up for e-mails at the Disney website, ordered a vacation planning dvd, etc. But I don't know that for sure.

All of the codes I've heard about are room-only discounts, not package discounts.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone about the posting policy for codes on the boards - - -

Please read - THIS LINK

Thanks for taking time to review the posting guidelines as well!

9. DISCOUNT CODES: As mentioned above, the DIS is all about planning a Disney vacation. On occasion, Disney does release discounts which usually can be obtained via a code. This information will be available in our Discounts section. However, Disney also sends mailings to specific individuals/target groups which contain a discount that can only be obtained with a PIN (personal identification number.) If you receive one of these offers, please do not share your PIN/Code on the DIS for others to use. We respect the fact that these offers are not for the general public and will remove any posts that include this information. Understand that this action is for your protection. For example, say you use Mrs. Smith's code. When you check in and are asked to produce proof that you are Mrs. Smith and cannot do so, you will be charged the full rate.

I just wanted to add early August to dates with 40% off codes. I'm going August 5-12. I got the 40% from a disobedient :hippie: , but loving Disboards members. :grouphug:

I'm not sure who the person was, but they posted a couple codes and the mods immediately removed them. A few people got the codes and some were so kind to share them via PM (private message). I shared the code with whoever asked me via PM (which was at least 40 people). I had so many PMs asking for the code, I just started cutting and pasting that info. Anyway, my point is, sometimes people will 'tell' you there is a code out there, you would have to pm them (because they are not suppose to list them publicly) and some will be willing to share, some are not so friendly. Some codes are public codes and the disboards mods will post them publicly. I've come across a few people who will not share - but will brag about their code. :confused3 - some people get upsells and they don't always know the codes too. Oh yeah, sometimes you have to call Disney a few times BEFORE you can get the code too.

The whole point is to keep watching this board - daily. JUST a FYI, the 40% off I recently received was only good for 48 hours. I was able to book two packages with this code. Finally, if you do come across a code, don't 'tell' Disney CM's you got the code (unless it’s public) from disboards. If they ask were you got the code from, say from a friend. We are all 'friends' (cyber friends) on the disboards.

Another suggestion is to call Disney periodically and see if there's a code or pin attached to your name. I didn't receive the actual "postcard" until 2 days before the expiration date.

If you are lucky enough to have a code or pin attached to your name will Disney CM's tell you that when you call to make a resie (as I just did for the Poly, Dec 2007, got rack rate, no AAA code, no AP codes out yet) or do you have to ask specifically if your name has a code or pin attached to it?

Thanks, Karen

So when you are calling to see if there is a code attached to you name, do you just call central reservations and say "I want to check and see if there is a code attached to my name" or do you actually have to be in the process of making a reservation before you can ask for that info?

See, I'd love to go to Disney this year but I won't be able to afford unless there happens to be a code attached to my name or I get a pin code magically. So I don't want to call and make a reservation, I just want to enquire about a possible code attached to my name and if there was then I'd probably be able to go ahead and book a room. Is it possible to do that without first booking a room?

I wish another 40% off code would come out, but I'm not that lucky.

Bumping this thread up for my kid's Pediatrician b/c it has some excellent information on HOW to obtain codes.....

A big hi from Stevie's Mom!:)

When we went in Oct. 2006 I booked our vacation in May. I paid on it and then in Aug. I got a code off of this website, It was 40% of our stay at POP. It did take about an hour until the CM got it all right but it was totally worth it. We are planning another trip in 2008 and hope they have another code. We would love to stay at a deluxe, but only w/a code.
