I haven't stayed at FW since 2011. I think there were still AAA discounts back then. I am hoping to plan a trip in July. Are there ever any discounts for the Fort? Everything I have seen excludes campsites.

The campsites are always full, no need for Disney to offer discounts. Sadly.

No more AAA.

Very few discounts because the resort stays pretty booked up especially on weekends so no discount is needed.

The last few years there has only been a discount offered for late August through September (not free dining). Thats about it.

I know it goes against the grain to stay at Disney without a discount but the Fort really is the best deal on property. Heck we've priced out staying offsite, staying in value with discounts, and renting dvc points and we go back to the Fort at rack rate is the best deal for us especially when you add in the basically deluxe location. They do have discounts often at the cabins, there is always that option.

Yeah, I dropped AAA when Disney stopped offering AAA discounts at the Fort. It used to pay for itself when we got the discount, but AAA has increased it's prices and dropped benefits.

We would definitely camp. We haven't done a hotel vacation since we bought our camper, except a quick weekend when I flew down to see my daughter's marching band perform in the parade. Last trip we camped at Tropical Palms for about $23 a night and did US and IOA. It was a cheap alternative but I miss FW. This may be the last Disney trip before my oldest starts college so I want to be at the fort. Guess I need to fork over the cash, at least fuel prices are down.

I was a bit bummed they didn't have a military discount. Disney offers military discount of everything else so I was surprised they didn't have it for the Fort. Getting ready for our first trip and very excited after reading all these reports :)

the campground stays full so no need for discounts.
I'd like to further CLARIFY this statement.
The campground stays full so no need for DISNEY TO OFFER discounts.

There is always a NEED (and desire) for US to save money by taking advantage of discounts.

Yes and the military also has it's own resort on Disney property down the road from the Polynesian. Where the military has rates based on pay scale. They also do not offer rooms to Vets who are not retired, except on limited occasions. So for those of us who served 4 or 8 years and may or may not have been in combat, nothing from Shades of Green.

At Shades of Green - January and September, you can Chris. Its how I was married there, my dad served in Vietnam and I used his paperwork. As long as you were honorable discharged.

Back at the Fort, the only discount it normally is September as it is normally very slow there with empty slots every where. They offer Florida Resident and or AP holder and runs around 75-80 bucks with the Premium Sites per night.

I last received a Florida resident discount in July 2014 for a Full hook up site for ~$85. The summer is definitely not a packed campground but there was nothing for last year and I haven't found anything for this year.

Yes September discount last year was not released until the mid-late summer. As we go every year the second week for our anniversary :)

So I looked this up at SOG, and for the same time in September it would cost me 50 dollars more a night than a premium campsite at the Fort. Not much of a bargain. On a weekly stay that is enough to just about cover my diesel fuel round trip of over 2200 miles towing my camper. Again, so no actual benefit or discount for Veterans, as far as I am concerned. Just my 2 cents.

It looks like the general summer offer is out now with "discounts of up to 30%" but if you click the "See Important Details" link you will find that the campsites are excluded from this offer (as usual).

Book by June 10 for stays June 12-August 25 (most dates).

PS - actually the Fort must be highly regarded since this offer is also not valid for the 3 bedroom villas, AOA Little Mermaid rooms (darn it-I'm disappointed), and the Poly bungalows.
