Any campers?

Hi!

Oh, I didn't have a question - I just see other people sharing other stuff - and noone seemed to mention camping. I wondered if it was "beneath" DisneyPark peeps... ;-) hahaha.
I've never made it to Killbear, almost though... but not YET? also haven't made it to Algonquin - but plenty places near by. Balsalm Lake, Covered Bridge @Killaloe, Bon Echo, Bass Lake.

I'm going to try making Mickey pancakes for breakfast this weekend ;) If adding Ovaltine to waffle mix makes them taste like the parks - I'm thinking I can make Mickey waffle tasting Mickey shaped pancakes for the kids :D hahaha.
La Tomate Look Down in the Forums section and you will See the Camping at Disney World Forum and there is a Sub Forum for The Camping Community . Be forewarned many of us the frequent those 2 areas are not well and you are likely get addicted by us. Come Join us

We have tent camped for a week every summer since kids were born. I've been out with a 1month old.

Last years trip ended in rain, cold and me realizing my age. By October we purchased a small 18foot trailer. No regrets!

I spent days of stress and tears this year to book provincial parks. Many extended weekend trips. We've been to three since they opened and have six more booked from now till Thanksgiving.

We head to Long Point tomorrow, I grew up there with plenty of family in the area so it's always a favourite.

Now don't get me wrong, I love the nature and outdoors of camping, the trailer has certainly helped. Nothing compares to the actual relaxation I feel while on a Disney vacation however. Next years plan is a week camping in July, a week in Florida hotel in August.

La Tomate Full Bio Hazard Suits are only recommended for those uneducated in the ways of The Camping Community. As someone accustomed to the Deluxe Resorts was once over heard referring to us as Trailer Park Trash the misconception is we are all a bunch of Rubes and Rednecks.
We have our share quirks , such as , an OBSESSION with Squirrels , A Devotion to our Resident Rock Stars, Organized Meet and Greets and Photos in TR's

We just got back from 4 days at Haldimand Cons. VERY happily surprised. My experiences with Conservation Areas has been very negative in the past. From drunk passed out people half in their car half on the ground, to soiled undies being left on top of a closed loo seat, to the general party atmosphere and loud noise/music until the wee hours. We had never had a good experience.
THIS ONE THOUGH?
WOW. Very nice and quiet, respectful fellow campers - the sites were close to each other so not a lot of privacy - but the general vibe of peace and quiet made everything feel more private (if that makes sense).
The beach, unfortunately, has succumbed to Lake Erie and is a LOT smaller than it used to be - but we still managed to go fossil and seaglass hunting, successfully. We also took a day to explore Port Dover; and our new tent held up against the thunderstorms that rolled through.

Next up? Rock Point - this will be our 2nd visit :) went last year and really enjoyed it.

Oh man, yah, trying to book something last year and this year has been a pain. I did the same and crammed in long weekend when I could - Kudos for managing to get 9!!! We managed 3 at PP, and one at a Cons.
I don't think I could handle a trailer on my own, hahaha. I've wondered about a tent trailer though - but again, I'm not sure I could handle it on my own. This is why I like grabbing cabins in the US State Parks - they're more affordable, and we just have to roll up with our bedding and stuff.
AND YES!!! People don't seem to "get" the actual relaxation you can have on a Disney vacation - especially a cruise. For me - it's just the fact that all thinking and planning are removed. I don't HAVE to worry about entertaining 2 kids, and worrying about what's for eating, etc etc. And if I want alone time? Send the kids to the kids' clubs. Yah - I hear everyone telling me "but it's vacation, you should be spending time as a family" ... but we do that 365 days of the year - and after this pandemic? it's been 365/24/7 NO BREAK.

I haven't cemented any plans for Disney next year, yet - as I am still only on one dose. Still waiting on that Allergist app. sigh.
