Our neighborhood Bunco club plays one night a month. There are usually 12-16 players. We all bring $5.00. We tally up this way: # of Wins, # of Losses, # of Buncos, # of Minis (3 of a kind), # of snake eyes (3 of 1s). Then we divide the money up for those that have the most of each category- with each category winning a different amount.

I know that there are variations of plays and prizes. How do you do it? What do you win and how much?

I was apart of a Bunko group when I lived in Italy, we had so much fun. I have missed it since moving back to the US a year and a half ago. One of my former group members moved where I am now and we will be getting our new group of Bunko players together in a couple of weeks, I am really looking forward to it!

As for the way we play, we usually played with $5 each for 12 ladies and the whoever was hosting would buy gifts for the night. There was a $20 gift for most wins, $15 gift for most Bunko's, $10 gift for raffle (all players who didn't win anything fell into this category), $10 gift for most loses and $5 for something else. I may have the order wrong, but can't remember off the top of my head as it has been a while.

Oh dear, Bunco. It was a heck of a ride while it lasted. Unfortunately, both of our leagues broke up due to drama and infighting. I hope yours fare better!

For what it's worth, here's how ours worked:

We rotated hosting duties. Everyone was assigned a month. The host was responsible for drinks and paper goods (plates, cups, napkins). 3 other people were assigned on a rotating basis to bring food. They each usually brought an appetizer and dessert.

Everyone threw in $5. At the end prizes were awarded for the most Buncos (any kind), the last Bunco (again, any kind), most wins, most losses, 50/50 wins and losses, and then the raffle for anyone who didn't win.

There are 8 of us that play monthly. We pay $7 each 1st prize is $25
2nd $15, 3rd is $10, floater is $3 and ****ie is $3. We also each put $1 in a special pot for whoever buncos on 1's in the 1st round--this pot can really grow, I think it has gotten as high as $64.
We also have a couple's bunco (same group) that we have the guys attend in Feb, and each couple pays $20 and we do $75, $50, $25, $5 and $5. We add each couple's cards together to determine the winner.
We give one mark for each win and one mark for each bunco.

I play I play

We have been playing for about 5 years now. We have 12 ladies. Each month someone hosts it at their house. We take off the summer and have a Christmas party at a restaurant. The hostess when its at her house, provides, food, and drinks of course. Plus a $10.00 door prize.

We pitch in $5.00, plus collect $2.00 a month, per person. The $5.00 is for Bunco, the $2.00 is put in a kitty and is used to pay our bill at the Christmas party. We divide the money up, whoever gets the last Bunco, most wins, most losses, 50/50 and most baby buncos. Everyone who doesn't get money goes in for the raffle drawing.

I was one of the original 12, when we started 5 years ago. I think there are 4 of us, the rest came and gone. But we all have alot of fun and its a good way to catch up on the neighborhood gossip. ;)

I play. We have 16 in our group and each month someone takes a turn hosting. The host provides food, drinks and 2 prizes. It costs $5 to play and the money is used for prizes, most wins, most losses and last bunco. The 2 prizes are for most minis ?...oops, I forgot!!

I've been in the group for almost 1 year and it's my turn to host in April. I'm a wreck about it, some ladies make a really big "show" about it. The house has to look just right and the food has to be great, the wine has to flow! Yikes! getting nervous again thinking about it!

I play in a group, we have 12 people and everyone pitches in $5. We give $20 for most wins, $15 for most losses, $10 for most buncos, $5 for last bunco, $5 for highest single roll total, $5 door prize. We rotate hosting and the hostess supplies drinks and after we play we have dessert.

I remember the last prize....it is travelling Bunko. Every time someone gets a Bunko they get an icon type thing (like a Beanie baby) and every time someone gets Bunko the Beanie baby travels to that person. Whoever is left with it at the end of the night wins the $5 gift prize.

We do rotate houses, the hostess provides drinks, paper goods and one dish to eat. Everyone who plays brings a dish to share as well.

It is just sooo much fun!!

I have been playing for a year now. Our group plays once a month and has 16 ladies and we each put $10 into the pot. We do not buy gifts, we divy up the money. We have 5 categories: 1) most buncos, 2) most wins, 3) most losses, 4) most mini boncos and 5) whoever has Mr. Incredible. "Mr. Incredible" is our traveling bunco. Each lady takes a turn to host bunco at her house and usually it is just drinks and snack items. I hosted at Christmas and provided a feast. We also played dirty Santa that night.
