Hi;
When red luggage first came out, I was one of the first to get it. My reasoning - it would be easy to spot. HA! Now, everyone has it for the same reason! Any suggestions on making mine stand out? I'm also looking for some type of ID to put on our bags. Any suggestions?

My parents have black luggage and bought lime green luggage straps (Samsonite outlet). You can spot them the second they come out! DH always keep a lime green handle wrap on his.

DD and I use LLBean rolling duffels, sure enough once someone started to walk away with my big purple bag! DD has the pink Hawaiian print, so not many of those out there! Next time I go to the store I might bring them and see if I can get our initials put on.

My mom bought my sister and I these bright green luggage tags at Samsonite. They stood out a lot. So look for some luggage tags that stand out well.

There's always spray paint Big ol lime green mickey spray painted on the side? :)

We tied colorful scraps of fabric (an aqua Hawaiian print bow!) onto our handles. Could also use a bright ribbon.

KLM airlines has a promo going for free personalized photo luggage tags. Not sure if everyone even bothers to look at tags, but hey, they're free anyway.

My dd wrapped a colorful ribbon around her handle. She also made a 2-color yarn pom-pom that she attached to the handle. Definitely stood out!

Tie a unique ribbon on the handles. I have a red and white polka dot ribbon tied to the handles of my black luggage. So easy to spot! And cheaper than buying new luggage tags!

This is what we do too. Even on our "unique" luggage. We use blue & gold ribbon. Though we just bought some new luggage so I might change things up a bit (I've been using the blue & gold for probably 10 years).

I ahve blue luggage that everyone seems to have now. So what i do is knot a few ribbons around the handles.

KLM had free luggage tags available - you get a set of two (just google KLM free luggage tags). You upload a picture to them along with your name, address, etc. My daughter put their wedding pictures on theirs.

ETA: I use rainbow striped straps that go all the way around the bag. Almost everytime I've picked up my luggage, I've heard somebody say something about what a good idea that was. It protects the bag if something happens to it and makes it VERY easy to spot. Got them at Dollar Tree.

I went to Walmart and bought a $2 roll of ribbon. Tied the ribbon around the straps on 2 sides of the luggage. Makes it easy to spot. Just make sure you pick a ribbon that is unique (i.e. not plain red). Tie it on all your bags and you will have plenty leftover for when you get more pieces of luggage.

Lime Green (and blue and red) Mickey heads as well as some neon triangles glued/taped on various sides of the luggage in an interesting pattern (my son cut out a lime green alien head for his). VERY easy to spot.

My mom has the same designs glued to her plain average black bag and the airline was able to do a last minute switch of flights (her original connection was going to be delayed and she wouldn't make it home). She gave them the lime green mickey head and green/blue triangle description and HER BAGS MADE the switch in the tight unlikely few minutes they had!

Colored electrical tape works great on any plasctic or vinyl parts of your luggage. We wrapped red tape around our luggage handles.

I use the bright colored luggage tags that you velcro around your handles. I slip a business card inside the plastic, (made them free at vistaprint). I even won a DVC luggage handle cover on the Wonder during a DVC presentation. I have a yellow one and a bright DVC blue one. I just tell DH to look at the handle covers.

Ribbon really works just pick a nice pattern. I once bought these beautiful luggage tags they were leather with my initials stitched into them cost about 50$ each wouldn't you know the first time I used them both were gone off my luggage when they came down the conveyor. They didn't seem flimsy either so now I use good old ribbon.

I just cut strips (about 1" x 12") of fabric from scraps....I've used Mickey Hawaiian print, Toy Story print, Cars print....Tie around the handle and super easy to spot! And because they're from scraps, it doesn't matter if one gets lost or destroyed...

My dad actually hunts the thrift stores in search of the ugliest bags possible- he has a bright turquise hard-back suitcase, and a lime green rolling bag with navy piping. We can usually spot them on the luggage truck, and sit peacefully because we know OUR bag made it on the flight! :)
My sister likes to stick smiley face stickers all over thier bags.
