Hello-

Looking to travel end of Sept. or early Oct., anyone looking to fill some hotel rooms?

We're getting married Friday, Oct 7th and have room blocks set up for the week before.

We are traveling sept. 24-Oct. 2 and I also would be more than happy to help someone fill rooms.

I would be willing to do this too - we are pretty flexible - may around memorial day or november or december.

I was an Escape bride so I didn't have to do this. So, I was wondering how this works exactly? What would be need to do to book using a room block? It is 'safe' i.e if for some dreadful reason a wedding was cancelled would we lose our accommodation or anything?

Thanks in advance.

That is a good question. I would assume that they would not just cancel your reservation if the wedding is canceled as some of the guests could have non-refundable airline tickets and decide to go anyway. They might take away the discount, however.

The downside of booking in a room block probably would be you'd lost the flexibility of changing to another discount if a better one comes up. General reservations wouldn't be able to modify your reservation and the room block people will only offer the room block discount.

I was under the impression that you can book with any discount and still be added to the room block. I think you only need to give your reservation # to the bride, you don't have to call and say I want to book a room in ____ room block.

If they were hoping to get the discount so they would have to call the room block line. <-- what I originally thought was being asked.

If someone just wanted to fill up their room block requirement then that would be the case.

How about making a "Help me fill my room block!" sticky? PM to respond, edit your post to update. And, conversely, a sticky for hotel discount seekers looking to fill blocks.
