hey there! It's been a while since I've posted and I have been lurking.... I need a Universal fix and am considering getting the preferred AP with the flex pay? Has anyone had experience with this and is it a benefit or a headache? Here is what I am considering: I would like to use my checking account (bank card) for this as it would become a standard bill for me.....(no problems there....) Here is where I worry.

I looked at the website and how it works and it says that it will be charged approximately the same date each month. If I start deducting this from my account on the 10th of the month, I don't want the next one to be on the 1st, and the next one on the 12,.....

See what I mean. I want to make sure that the payment will always be taken out the same time and that it won't cause me any headaches down the road.

Also, what would happen if they go to deduct the money and it's not there? Are there fees, etc?????

Thank you in advance.

Is it really you??? Welcome back!!!

No idea on flex pay though.

No fees. The price quoted includes tax. However, the B1G1 deals are a better deal imo. If you can shell out the cash upfront you'll get 2 years for the price of 1.

The payment will always be aprox the same day every month , if you sign up on the 10th it should always be the 10th.....if they try to charge you and the payment doesn't go through, there are no fees charge by universal...They retry decline credit cards a couple of times a week or you can call and they can take a catch up payment

BUT Your bank will charge you a fee if something comes through and you do not have the funds to cover it. Depending on your standing with your bank, they may choose to pay it and charge you for the overdraft, or they can return it and STILL charge you for the overdraft.

Just thoughts from a Banker here!:thumbsup2

I always renew my Universal AP for $99 every year, better deal than paying it monthly, but I pay my Busch Platinum pass monthly with their EZ pay program which I figure is the same as Universal's.The way it works is I know every month around the 25th of the month the amount gets taken out automatically out of my checking account since I used a debit card to pay for it,I've never experienced a problem with them!

Yeah, pretty much what everyone is saying is true. I purchased mine at the park about 4 yrs ago and have been doing the flex pay ever since then. The amount they quote you is what is taken out every month. Its always taken out at the same time every month. I used a check card with the visa logo on it also so therefore I couldn't do the easy pay option on-line. I had to purchase them in person at universal and then it worked. I don't know if it had to do with my bank or not but it didn't work when i tried doing it on-line. There are no hidden fees and if one month they couldn't take it out they keep on trying until it could go through, now like someone else mentioned if your bank decides to pay it w/out the money being there then the bank will charge you an overdraft fee not universal. Also it renews itself automatically every year at the same price that your paying monthly unless u send in a written letter stating that you want to cancel it, but once you get that monthly quote ur locked in at that monthly price until you decide you dont want the pass anymore.

I have had the flex plan, no longer do though. The only problem which really was not that big of a deal was the cc that the payment was being taken out
on ,my wife had transferred the balance to another cc, and did not
tell them to keep accepting universals withdrawals, so I show up at the
park and my pass is not valid, go to guest services and explain and they
took a payment then and I was good to go.

Thank you so much to all of you! I normally do shell out the money, but right now we are remodeling the house, so I have to watch my $$$$...

Damo, it is me, I'm back with a vengence! I've missed you all!
